This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For this week's Vera Lane Studio post I have made a postcard.

I used a gelli print for the background. I added some more green ink to the bottom as I didn't think it was green enough. I added stamping and splatters. Frank's Bride was coloured with Copics and cut out. I placed her on the card together with the sentiment from the set.

You'll find Frank's Bride HERE

Take chances

 Hello everyone,

It's Tuesday and that means another project for AALL & Create. I have used some of Bipasha's new stamps for a journal page. It is a little bright !

Here's how I made it:

I cut a piece of watercolour paper to 20 x 15 cm approx. I like this size to work on. I heat embossed this stamp by Bipasha with white powder and then used Lindy's Stamp Gang ink sprays to colour the page. I hadn't used these in ages. Sometimes i Forget what I have...

I then added some washi tape for more interest.

Next I added some stamping. The circles are very subtle. I used a combination of Distress Oxide inks and Versafine Clair inks to stamp.

Next I stamped the flower stamp on watercolour paper.

I coloured it with watercolour markers (Ecoline). I am not sure about these, some of the colours are a bit garish and the set doesn't have a nice dark green.
After I finished colouring I cut it out.

I glued it onto my page and added some Tim Holtz stickers as a sentiment.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stamps:
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#747 - Positive Thoughts by Bipasha Bk
#713 - Shattering by Bipasha Bk
#745 - Visiting The Flowers by Bipasha Bk
#743 - Time & Tide by Bipasha Bk

Washi tape:
#7 - 25 mm by Autour de Mwa
#15 - Twine by Bipasha Bk

The last summer evenings

 Hello everyone,

For the second inspiration piece for Country View Challenges' 'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' themed challenge I have made an artjournal page.

There is still lots of time to play along with us! Before you do please read the RULES

Here's how I made it:

I used Distress Oxide inks and water to make the background.

I then stamped the focal point on the page and on a piece of separate paper. I used watercolour paper for this project.

Some background stamping using the same Distress Oxide inks.

A bit more stamping, this time with black ink.

Adding some pieces of washi tape.

I decided to use watercolours for the focal image.

After cutting the image out I glued it over the one on the page.

Lastly I added some Tim Holtz clippings stickers as a sentiment.

Chase your dreams

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a tag. It gave me lots of trouble because what I had in mind didn't quite work out as well as I thought.

Here's how I made this:

I had this idea of a half and half tag where I stencilled with the opposite colours like I did, but when I finished it, I didn't really like it. Maybe wrong colour choice ? I don't know.

I decided to roll with it and toned it down with white paint and a brayer and added some stamping.

Next I stuck some washi tape down..

I then stamped some more. I used Archival ink (Picked Raspberry)  for this and the pink went totally neon when I toned it down with white paint. Weird when colours change so much. I didn't like that at all so I toned it down even more.

I then thought the colours weren't bright enough.. so I used a blending tool and same-ish Distress Oxide colours to brighten it a little and added some white paint splatters. I thought it looked better but I am still not convinced. I put it to the side to colour the focal image.

I stamped this Fresia stamp and coloured it..

At least I didn't mess that up ! lol

Stamped the sentiments I was going to use.

Now it is finished I quite like it! I glued the freesias down and used a watercolour marker to add some shading around it. I then added the sentiments which I inked with Distress Oxide Inks. Lastly I tore a piece of silk of some I had in my stash (from my silk painting days) and coloured it with Distress Oxide ink and added it to the top of my tag.

I have used :

Stencil : #113 - Lotza Squares by Autour de Mwa
Stamps:
#753 - Delight In Flora by Tracy Evans
#754 - Power Of The Word by Tracy Evans
#755 - Round Digits by Tracy Evans
#757 - Tickets by Tracy Evans
Washitape:
#8 - Fledgling by Tracy Evans
#24 - Power Words by Bipasha Bk

Spilling wine

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing another project for AALL & Create. I have made an artjournal with one of the Miss Dee stamps. They crack me up and I want to keep on using them.

Here's how I made it:

First I coloured Miss Dee.

I dug out my Distress Oxide Sprays which I hadn't used for ages. I used 'Squeezed Lemonade', 'Twisted Citron' and 'Mowed Lawn'. I used some white paint and a brayer to clean up the pages and to add some more light areas. I then used this stencil with white paint and with 'Faded Jeans" Distress Ink.

Some background stamping.

Next I added some washi tape for Dee to stand on.

and there she is in all her glory. I must say I totally agree with her... lol

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil:
#101 - Secret Numbers by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa
#758 - Hidden Words by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a little ATC.

It was a very spooky thing to happen, but when I was making this the radio was actually playing "don't stop me now"... lol
I found the ATC card in my stash. It was white with the crackle paste already on it. So I coloured it with Distress Oxides and stamped it randomly with some of Janet's stamps by AALL & Create. Freddie was printed and coloured with Copics. I cut him out and placed him on the ATC.

You will find Freddie HERE

Take flight

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a card.

Here's how I made it:

First I cut a piece of watercolour paper to the size of a card topper. I then stamped Dominic's butterfly on it. This stamp is my absolute favourite from Dominic's first collection.

I added watercolours loosely all over the butterfly and sprayed some water over it to make it run outside the lines.

I then used coloured pencils to add some more colour to the butterfly itself.

Next I used the dots of this stencil to add some more interest. I used coloured pencils in the same colours as I used for the butterfly.

Next, I added some strips of washi tape to frame the image. I also splattered some white paint on it using a Posca Paint pen.

I then drew a line around the card and added some more stamping using this set by Tracy.

The panel was then glued onto a card.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil:
#139 - Snow Pines by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#772 - Magical Realm by Dominic Phillips
#729 - Spread Your Wings by Tracy Evans

Washitape:
#24 - Power Words by Bipasha Bk
