Say yes to new adventures

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have a made a card. It is a very simple,  straightforward card but I really like how it came out.

Here's how:

First I stamped this stamp with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white powder.

Here you can see the embossing a little clearer.

Next, I smooshed these two Distress Oxide Inks on my craft sheet, spritzed with water and dunked the card in it. I then dried it and wiped it with a piece of kitchen roll to remove the ink from the embossing powder.

I stamped the focal image, the crow and the sentiment I wanted to use.

I then coloured him lightly with watercolour markers.

I cut him out, adhered him to the card and added a few pieces of washi tape and the sentiment I went around the words strips with a black pen.

I matted the card on a piece of black card stock to frame it and then glued the whole thing onto a white card.

I have used the following materials:
Stamps:
#398 - Celestial Navigation by Olga Heldwein
#422 - Fly Free by Janet Klein
#445 - Dashing Crow by Olga Heldwein
Washi:
#16 - Burlap Black by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

and Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made two postcards.

These two are having a little gossip !
The Seagull set came out this week and there are a few more birds in the set. I printed, coloured and cut them out. I found this mop up page in my stash and I simply added a strip of washi tape to the bottom and a little sliver to the top. I added the birds and a snarky sentiment and that was that!

You'll find the seagulls HERE.

This cute Chameleon was coloured with Copics and cut out. I gave him a branch to sit on and added everything to this card that was, again, from my stash. I actually almost threw it away as I considered it failed. I am pleased I didn't because it fits him perfectly. I just added some white splatters, a sentiment from the set, gave him/her flowers in his/her hair and drew some black lines around the edges.

You'll find this cute chameleon and his little brother HERE

Mark Maker

  Hi Everyone,

I am back on the team ! After 6 months without, I really missed the quirky, fun images of VivaLasVegaStamps! so I am really happy that I am part of it again. For my first project I have made a postcard. Postcards are great because their size is not too intimidating and yet there is plenty of room to enjoy yourself.

I made the background with an UmWow Studio (Hexagon) stencil, acrylic paint and a gelli plate. I added stamping and heat embossing. The main image was coloured with watercolour markers.

I have used the following stamps:

Rest materials:
Amsterdam Acrylics
Gelli Arts Gelli plate 6 x 6
Versafine and Archival inks
Watercolour markers
White embossingpowder

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Behaving badly

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a tag with some older stamps and stencil. It was fun to make thinking these doggies are up to no good !

Here is how I made it:

I sprayed this tag (which I cut myself) with one Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and two Distress Oxide Sprays. I sprinkled some water on it, dried it and then rubbed this stencil with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. I sprayed it with water and used it to print on the tag.

Next I added some stamping. I used grey, black and brown inks.

I then stamped the dogs and the windows. By masking off certain parts of the windows before stamping the dogs, it looks like they around looking out.

I used watercolour markers to colour the images and when I had finished and everything was dry I cut them out.

Next I adhered them to the tag. I also added some black acrylic paint along some of the edges of the tag.

I added some washi tape here and there.

Lastly I added a clippings sticker and a piece of ribbon. I also went around the words with a black pen.

I have used the following materials:

Stencil #59 - Weathered Tiles by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape #16 - Burlap Black by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#400 - Numerator by Tracy Evans
#342 - Windows by Janet Klein
#373 - Rescue Puppies by Janet Klein
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa

Breaking out in sarcasm..

 Hello everyone,

Today is the 1st of July so that means there is a new challenge over at Country View Challenges. This month the theme is 'use a stencil (or 2)' and it was set by the lovely Monika. I have made a tag and this time I finally did another video. I still haven't really found my Mojo but thought to try and get back to normal might help.

I used a stamp from Katzelkraft as the main image as they are now available from Country View Crafts.
Anyway, hop over to my YouTube channel if you'd like to see how I made this tag.

We would love for you to play along with us but make sure to read the rules on the CVC page first (link above).
I'll be back soon with more inspiration.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a postcard and an ATC.

This little Sherlock came out last week. Isn't he adorable?
I printed, coloured and cut him out. The background was made with a stencil and alcohol inks.
Some stamping and a piece of washi tape (AALL & Create) finished it off.

You'll find Sherlock HERE

This ATC was made with 'Toucan do'. I printed, coloured and cut her out. The background was from my stash. I just added white paint with a brayer and some stamping and washitape (AALL & Create).
Some doodling finished it off.

You'll find 'Toucan do' HERE
