This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Today's Vera Lane Studio post is slightly different than normal. The DT are sharing their 5 favourite sets of all time. Not that is a difficult task because I have so many favourites.. I would be able to find at least 5 Miss Dee sets that are my firm favourites but I managed to find some more that I really like. I chose my 5 favourites because they are so varied. Vera Lane Studio really has something for everyone.

So here are my top 5 in no particular order:

Alice comes from a set called Alice. How cute is she?
You'll find her HERE

This one is fairly recent and is called Live, love, bark. I love the looks on their faces!

You'll find these darlings HERE

This one I have used at least twice... he is part of a set called Moose Hunt. Again the expression on his face is fantastic.
The amoosing Moose is HERE

Of course I had to have a Miss Dee. This one is Party Dee.
You'll find here HERE

and last but not least, this is Vincent. As a Dutch person I really love this; I also love his paintings.

Vincent is HERE

I hope you liked my top 5!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Eat cake!

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog. It's Tuesday so that means another post for AALL & Create! This time I have made a journal page.

Here's how:

I had this idea in my mind to make a journal page with this girl and cake. So I started with finding cakes from this ephemera pack. I used a few more in the end.

Next I made a gel print with this stencil and acrylic paint.

I toned it down with white paint and then used a brayer to roll pink and black VersaFine Clear ink over it. It gives it a little grunge. I then added some stamping.

The main images were stamped and coloured. I used Copic Markers to colour.

I this point, after adding splatters too, I was wondering whether I went to far... So much going on but I decided to just go ahead with it.

And this is the end result. I think it came out nice.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil #185 - Margarita Dreams by Janet Klein
Washi tape # 17 - Mix & Match by Janet Klein

Ephemera by Bipasha Bk:
#59 - Candies & Doughnuts

Stamps by Janet Klein:
#1133 - La Dolce Vita
#409 - Home
#692 - African Voices

Stamps by Autour De Mwa:
#1162 - Cirque
#489 - Wisecracks

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! For this week's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a tag. I have used the set 'Beach Life' that was released this week.

I printed, coloured and cut out the image. I used Copic Markers for colouring. The background was a piece of gel printed paper from my stash. I just rolled over some white paint, especially in the area where the girl was going to go as it was too busy. She didn't really stand out.
I added some washi tape and put her and her flip flops on that. Lastly I added the sentiment from the set and some doodling around the tag.

Party hard, celebrate harder.

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a card/artjournal page. You can call it what you like. I had fun making this and really like how it came out.

Here's how I made it:

I started with die cutting a card/page.

I then gel printed that piece of paper with this stencil and acrylic paint.

I toned it down a little with white paint and then added some pieces of Rub-on.

Added some stamping.

Stamped out my focal images and started colouring.

This is how they came out, I then cut them out and started assembling everything.

and here it is all put together.

I have used:
Stencil #30 by Autour De Mwa
Rub ons #10 - Red Red Wine by Autour De Mwa
Die #42 - Papyrus Essence

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! Today's Vera Lane Studio post is an art journal spread. I have used the set 'Pelican Beach' which was released this week.

Aren't they fabulous!
I started with printing and colouring the images. I used Copic Markers. I then cut them out. Next was the background. I used acrylic paint and a brush to create a kind of sea, land and sky image. I loosely painted some clouds as well. I added some Rub-Ons (by AALL & Create #8) and some stamping. I used Janet's stamp set called African Voices (also by AALL & Create #692).
I placed the birds on the pages and added one of the Ephemera text strips by Autour de Mwa & Co, also AALL & Create (#47). I thought this one was fun to combine with the pelicans.
Lastly I doodled around the page and that was that!

You will find the Pelican set HERE

Live simply, bloom wildly

 Hello everyone,

It's Tuesday and that means another post for AALL & Create. This time I have made a round card.

Here's how:

I started by cutting out the inner circle of this die. I coloured it with Distress Oxide ink and then toned it down with white paint using a brayer.

I stamped and coloured the girl, then cut her out.

I die cut some sprigs from this die set. I used gelli prints for this. I ended up cutting them up and using bits.

Next I added stamping to the background. I must say I wasn't happy with this at all.....

I ended up doing more stamping and colouring in the flowers. I used watercolour markers for this.

I added a tiny bit of washi tape for her to stand on..

This is the finished project. I ended up drawing around the pink flowers with a black marker and I liked that better. Probably should have just stamped them with black ink. I added one of the die cut sprigs and the sentiment of the set. I doodled around that too. In the end I quite like it. lol

I have used the following materials:

Dies:
#38 - Counting Circles
#42 - Papyrus Essence

Washi:
#62 - Raspberry Clafoutis

Stamps:
#692 - African Voices by Janet Klein
#523 - Flower Pops by Janet Klein
#1132 - Blooming Wildly by Janet Klein
#1162 - Cirque by Autour De Mwa
#1156 - Numero Uni by Autour De Mwa

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made a journal spread. Journaling is still my favourite thing to do.. I have used the newly released set 'Carmen Miranda'. She was a Portuguese-born Brazilian singer, dancer, and actress. Nicknamed "The Brazilian Bombshell", she was known for her signature fruit hat outfit that she wore in her American films. Anyway, I had fun putting these pages together.

I started with printing and colouring the images. For the colouring I used Copic Markers, I then cut them out. Next I started on the background which is made with Distress Oxide inks and a blending tool. I applied orange, yellow and green and splattered with water. I then used a brayer and white paint to tone it down even further. I added splatters and some stencilling. This stencil is by Janet via AALL & Create. It is called Margarita Dreams #185. Next I added some stamping with black ink with a textstamp from a set also by Janet via AALL & Create (African Voices #692).
I then placed the images on the page. I drew the branch and the little flowers and placed the bird and the leaved on it. Carmen was placed on the opposite page. Lastly I added the sentiment.

You'll find 'Carmen Miranda' HERE.

A card for AALL & Create

 Hello everyone,

I am back on the Guest Design Team at AALL & Create and have made my first card.

Here's how I made it:

First I cut out a card from Abs' new Design paper with a die.

I chose the sentiment and made it a little smaller because the card is not too large.

Going over the card with white paint and a brayer.

Adding some rub-ons.

I then stamped the swan on the card and on some card stock for colouring. This way you can cut off the small details and still see them when you glue down the stamped, coloured image on your card.

Coloured in the water at the bottom and added some stamping.

The swan, coloured and cut out. By the way I really detest swans... lol I think they are horrible creatures.

THe finished card..

I have used the following AALL & Create Materials:

I have used the following materials:
Die set #26 - Frayed Frames

Rub-ons #10 - Red Red Wine by Autour De Mwa & Co
