Waves of happiness

 Hello everyone,

It is Tuesday again! Can you imagine it is June tomorrow? Time does fly! Anyway, I have made a 6" x 6" journal page for AALL & Create today. I used an older stamp by Bipasha that I hadn't used yet. I do love the sea so with Summer around the corner I thought it was time I did use it !

Here's how:

I first made a stencil print by rubbing Distress Oxide Inks Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina and Speckled Egg over this stencil, spritzing it with water and printing it on my 6" x 6" piece of water colour paper.

I toned it down slightly by rolling over some white paint with a brayer. I then stamped the background randomly and went around the edges with the same black ink pad to frame it. Later I added some more very subtle stamping.

I wanted to use this lighthouse because I hadn't used it yet and I do love the sea and lighthouses. I have hundreds of photos of lighthouses...

I stamped the words of, waves and happiness on tissue paper to glue onto the banner and to use as a sentiment.

Here is the result.

Next I stamped the lighthouse on my page to get all the details that I can't cut out. I decided to use the banner just as a banner, without everything around it.

I added some pink paint splatters and some washi tape, then placed the images on the page. I added a little shading with a graphite pencil under the banner.
You can see the subtle stamping I was talking about earlier here. It is the same text stamp I used on the edges.

For this project I used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil #145 Jumbo ABC's by Bipasha Bk
Washi #24 - Power Words by Bipasha Bk

Stamps, all by Bipasha Bk:
#568 - ABC's
#442 - Sea Essentials
#457 - Background Voices
#642 - Caffeinated

Rain makes the flowers grow

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a card. I used one of my favourite little people by Janet.

Here's how I made it.

For the background I used a brayer and rolled acrylic paint in different areas. I used yellow, turquoise and pink. I then toned it down with white paint and the same brayer.
Next I used this stencil, again with white paint. I like those bubbles. I added a few splatters too.

I added some stamping using the same-ish colours of ink and grey and black.

The focal points. I love stamping on book pages and hadn't done that for a while so I chose to stamp the clouds on book pages.

All coloured up!

Adding some washi tape to ground the little girl.

And here she is...

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil:
#135 - Bricks & Bubbles by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#523 - Flower Pops by Janet Klein
#357 - Fly by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a 6" x 6" journal page with the newly released 'Unique Succulents'. I used a mop up page from the gelli plate as a background.

I added stamping and stencilling to the page with products from AALL & Create. I resized, printed and coloured the image. I used Copic Markers for this and then cut it out. I placed it on the page and added some shading under the car. Lastly I added the sentiment also adding shading under the strips.

You'll find this adorable image HERE.

One of a kind

 Hello everyone,

For today's GDT project for AALL & Create I have decorated a mini canvas. I have no progress photographs this time because I simply forgot to take them. I do have a VIDEO tutorial though!

I tried too make an antique picture that was found in the attic or somewhere. I started way to bright but got there in the end.

A close up of all that lovely crackle...

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio I have made a journal spread with the fabulous Miss Dee. Today she is in party mood, I think....

So, I printed and coloured Miss Dee, cut her out and set her aside while I did the background. I used Copic Markers and a little bit of coloured pencil for the colouring.
Next I rolled two shades of yellow onto my journal pages starting with the lightest and when that had dried I went over with the darkest making sure to leave some of the light yellow. I then added stencilling and stamping. I used some black acrylic paint to go around the edges where the black stamping was to frame it. After gluing down some washi tape (by AALL & Create) I placed her on my page.
Lastly I added the sentiment and added some shading under the words with a coloured pencil.

Too many options

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I share another project for AALL & Create. This time I have made a Mixed Media tag.

Here's how I made it:

First I put some texture paste through this stencil. The tag is watercolour paper.

Next I used these sprays to add colour to the tag. Later on I did tone it down a little by rolling over some white acrylic paint with a brayer. This also makes the texture paste stand out more.

I then stamped the images I was going to use ready for colouring with my Copic Markers.

I decided to use some die cuts too but in the end I only used the flowers of the yellow one.

I then randomly stamped the background.

I glued the cup and the bird on my tag. I cut a slit into the coffee so I could lower the bird 'into the coffee'. I also added the die cut flowers.

I added some shading under the cup and saucer, around the flowers and under the sentiment strips. That was the tag done!

I have used :
Die #13 - Bursting Buds by Bipasha Bk
Stencil #137 - Coffee Stains by Bipasha Bk
Stamps:
#642 - Caffeinated by Bipasha Bk
#643 - Hot Drinks by Bipasha Bk
#625 - Vine by Tracy Evans
#464 - Strange birds by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio I have made a 6" x 6" journal page with the Gemini set that came out this week.

I printed and coloured the images with Copics, then cut them out. The background is made with a gelli plate and a stencil with Pan Pastel. This is a really fun technique where you put the stencil on the gelli plate, use the Pan Pastels to colour in different areas of the stencil. You then roll over a thin layer of white acrylic paint and print.
I didn't add any stamping because I thought it was rather nice just as it is.

You will find the set 'Gemini' HERE

Viola

 Hello everyone,

It is Tuesday so that means another project for AALL & Create. This time I have made an AJ page.

Here's how I made it:

I started with a piece of watercolour card stock 6 x 6 and stamped the viola on it. I coloured it with watercolours. This is slightly unusual for me as normally I colour with Copic Markers and also cut them out and later adhere them onto my page.

A close up...

Next, I stamped the circles three times and also watercolored them. I wanted to use them as collage pieces on my project.

Next, I added the colour to the background with watercolours and a brush. When this had dried I added some Distress Ink (Vintage photo) with a blending tool. The white spots are waterdrops. I then added a stencil print; this is when you rub the stencil with ink (Distress Oxide - Vintage Photos in this case), spritz with water and then print it on the project.

I then added some stamping on the background for more interest.

I rolled over some white paint with a brayer and added some washi tape.

Next I took the text stamp from this set and added it to the background tone on tone.

Lastly I added the circles, the sentiment and some doodle lines along the sentiment strips and the edges.

I have used :

Stamps:
#624 - Crocus by Tracy Evans
#400 - Numerator by Tracy Evans
Stencil:
#45 - Digital Bubbles by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape:
#7 - 25 mm by Autour de Mwa
