Rawr, stomp

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a mini book. I used Janet's new stamp set with the Dinos and I think it turned out super cute !

Here's how I made it:

I cut a 12 x 12 piece of design paper into an approx. A4 size and folded it in 8. I then made a cut in the middle so I could fold it into a book. Lots of tuts on YouTube if you want to make one. Just google Zine-book.

Here is it all folded and glued.

I started with grey and white paint and a brayer to tone down the pattern. I then added stencilling with a green acrylic paint and this stencil. I repeated this on all the pages + the front and back covers.

I then added some washi tape here and there just to make it look a little bit more interesting. This is also repeated on all pages.

Next I added some stamping with this new stamp set from Janet.

I then stamped the dinos. I used pattern paper to stamp on because I thought that would be cute. I still ended up colouring them. lol.

I used watercolour markers and coloured pencils to add some colour to them. I did the eyes with a white paint marker. Next I cut them out and decided where I wanted them.

Here is the front of the book. I added a sliver more of washi to put him on and stamped the two words that come with the set. I also added a sticker saying 'attitude'.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! This week I have made a postcard and a tag for Vera Lane Studio.

This postcard was made with a stencil printed background. I found this in my stash after I coloured the image and thought the red was perfect. The little hero was printed, coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I placed him on the card on top of some washi tape and added the sentiment.

You'll find 'Superhero' HERE

This tag which could also be a bookmark was made with and older image called 'Birds Nest'. I printed her, coloured her with my Copic Markers and cut her out. I took a piece of gelli printed paper and added some  heat embossing and some stamping. I put a piece of washi tape down and placed her on top. Lastly I added the sentiment and went under the words with an orange coloured pencil.

Banksy wasn't here

  Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I have a made a colourful postcard for VivaLasVegaStamps! and I had to use some of the new Banksy inspired stamps.

and here's how I made it:

First I coloured my paper with Distress Oxide inks by dunking it in the ink and water pools on my craft sheet. I dried in between layers.

Next I added some random stamping using the same inks plus some grey and black Versafine Clair.

Next, I went around the edges with black acrylic paint. When that had dried I stamped the words directly on the card and the man on a piece of separate paper. I then cut him out.

And here is the finished card. I added some washi tape and placed the man in it to ground him. He looks like to be spray painting. I did add some more drips under the words.
I found the top to be too empty so I added a sentiment, using black ink on white card because I thought some more white would be good. And that finished it off.

I used the following stamps:

Happy birthday card

 Hello everyone,

It is Tuesday so that means another project for AALL & Create. I have made a simple birthday card this time.

And here is how I made this :

First I printed part of this stencil on a piece of card stock 10 x 10 cm (about 4"x4").

Next I stamped randomly, using the same ink (DOI - Kitsch Flamingo) and Black Versafine Clair.

I stamped the girl from this garden themed set because I thought she would work well on a birthday card. I also stamped the sentiment 'Happy Birthday' form the 'the boys' set.

Here she is all coloured up.

I added a black line around the card and placed her on it. Lastly I added the sentiment. The panel was matted on some white textured card stock and then glued onto a white card base.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil #119 - Alphanumeric by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#494 - X or O by Janet Klein
#510 - Grow by Janet Klein
#527 - The boys by Janet Klein

50 shades of .... green

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a journal page which I made as an inspiration piece for the monochromatic challenge over at Country View Challenges

and here's how:

First I cut a piece of watercolour paper to 6" x 6" and then rubbed this new AALL & Create stencil called 'Alphanumeric' with Distress Oxide inks. I used Peeled paint and Twisted Citron. I then spritzed with water and put it onto my paper.

This is what it looks like dry.

Next I stamped the background with the same colours ink.

I have had this stamp set by Katzelkraft for ages and have never used it, so today I thought this was as good a day as any to get it out. I stamped this person (?) on the background to get the little bubbles above his head and onto a scrap or watercolour paper.

I coloured him with Distress Inks, also Peeled Paint and Twisted Citron and coloured pencils to get a little more variation in the greens.

After adding some washi tape, green of course, I glued him down.

Next I stamped one of the sentiments of this AALL & Create stamp set with Versafine Clair ink 'Shady Lane'.

Ad an afterthought I added some circles from the AALL & Create set and the Shady Lane ink. I think it looked better without.. lol  I added the sentiment and used a green coloured pencil to add a line underneath the word strips and that finished it off.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made an ATC and a card.

This ATC was made with the new release called 'Housework whenever'. I printed her, coloured her with Copic Markers and cut her out. The background was from my stash and I added a little stamping and some washi tape to put her on. I added some pink coloured pencil under the words.

You'll find her HERE

This card was made with 'Cheerleader' that came out a little while ago. I printed her, coloured her with Copic Markers and cut her out. I used a gelli print from my stash and just toned it down slightly with white paint and a brayer. I added one of the sentiments that came with the set.

Something green

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog! It is Tuesday so that means another project for AALL & Create. I have made a journal page with one of Janet's latest stamp sets. I think these frogs are adorable, they all look like the lost the plot a little! That's why I like them; I loose the plot regularly too! lol

Here's how I made it:

Lesson learned last time when my paper buckled very badly I thought I'd use watercolour paper because I was going to use lots of water again. It still buckled a little but not as much. I started off with putting on some washi tape.

Next: I used texture paste and this stencil.

I used a combination of pigment powders and Lines Gang sprays to five the whole thing some (green) colour. There are lots of different shades of green.

Next I rolled over white paint with a brayer. Not only to tone is down but also to make the texture stand out more.

Next: I stamped the background with these three sets. I used green and black ink.

I then stamped the focal image and the sentiment I was going to use. I used white Neenah card stock for the frog so I could colour him with Copic Markers. The sentiment was stamped on the same watercolour paper as the I used for the background so there won't be any colour difference.

Here he is in all his green splendour!

Here is the whole page. I added the frog to the page and also the sentiment and used a normal graphite pencil to adde some lines here and there.

I used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil #114 - Art by Janet Klein
Washi tape #20 - Verde que te quiero verde by Janet Klein
Stamps:
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#521 - Be Hoppy by Janet Klein
#541 - Indulge in daisies by Tracy Evans
#543 - Reckoner Digits by Tracy Evans
