Have a beautiful day

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create Guest DT I made a card. I used one of Tracy's new flower stamps and went a little vintage with it. Any excuse to make a mess, eh? lol

And here is how I made this:

I started with a stencil print. I used watercolour card, cut to size, and Distress Oxide ink in Speckled Egg.

I coloured another piece of watercolour paper in Distress Oxide ink by smooshing the ink pads on my craft sheet, spritzing with water and dunking the paper in it until I was happy, drying inbetween layers. I used Wild Honey and Vintage photo. I then stamped the flower on it.

I also stamped the flower on the card front because I planned to glue it down slightly off set. In the end I didn't do that so could have skipped this step.

I added some shading to the flower with Distress ink in Vintage Photo and a water brush. I then cut the flower out.

I randomly stamped the background using the same inks and Versafine Clair in black. Before I did this I used a brayer and some white acrylic paint to tone down the blue along the edges.

Next I added some pieces of washi tape.

Stamping the sentiment. I cut out the words and inked the edges.

Lastly I added some black splatters. I also inked the edges with brown and black Distress Ink and then sprayed water of it to make it run and look a bit shabby. After all that was dry again I glued on the sentiment and put the card front onto a brown card base.

I used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stamps:
#489 Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa
#531 - Textured Florals by Tracy Evans
Stencil:
#30 by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape:
#13 - Fasteners by Bipasha Bk
#24 - Power words by Bipasha Bk

  3. What a gorgeous piece - you've done a lovely job with that flower stamp (and isn't it a beauty?!). I love how you've tied the foreground and background together with colour!
