Ice cream !!

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my fourth and final project for 100 Proof Press. (I will still do a calendar page every month !) They have such wonderful images; really worth having a look !
I have made a trio of ATC's for today and here they are :

and here is how I made them :

Starting off with cutting three pieces of card stock measuring 2,5 x 3,5".

I painted each card with 2 shades of the same colour. I used PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylic paints.

Here I added some stamping.... I will be adding stencilling too.. with white paint.

I used a doily stencil and white paint. Here you can see all the elements together. Have used an ice cream stamp. I altered one to be upside down and I cut some tops to have a triple ice cream..
I coloured them all with Copic Markers.

Here's the first one...

No. 2...

No. 3

and here they are all together... I also added a sentiment and some doodling...

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Imagine

Hello everyone,

Hallo allemaal,

I am very happy to be on the "De Duif Design Team" and for my first blogpost I have been playing with the new Distress Oxide Inks and will have some more blogposts and a YouTube tutorial over the next few weeks. I have tried different techniques and this card was made with a gelli plate. I did find out that it was better to use a brayer to apply the ink to the plate as the result is a little more subtle.
When I was happy with the result of printing, overprinting and splattering with water, I added some stamping to make the background a little more interesting. I used the Distress Oxides for this too.  The flowers and sentiment were stamped and coloured separately, cut out and glued on. I coloured the flowers with Copic Markers.  You'll find a list of all the supplies I used at the bottom of this post.

Chase your dreams

Hello everyone,

Today I have an art journal page for Um Wow Studio to share and this is it :

and here is how I treated the lovely chipboard kite:

I was going to use some stars as well but decided against it in the end... I will use them for something else sometime.

First I gessoed everything to get a good base. Also because I was going to use acrylic paint I think it is better to start with a light base.

These are the colours I used...

Next I added some shading with Faber Castell Big Brush markers and added some faux stitch lines.

For the background I used my gelli plate and a Lego piece..

I also used a few rubber stamps by VivaLasVegaStamps and a cloud stamp by Lawn Fawn.

This is the chipboard and you'll find it HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Enjoy the little things

Hello everyone,

Another card from me today...

Another of those Elena Zinski critters by PaperArtsy. I love them... all of them.. this one is just an ordinary girl with wings but by adding stripes to her dress I turned her into a bee !
The background is a gelli print and I just added some background stamping and embossing.

Imagine

Hello everyone,

I was thinking what I could do on my holidays that will be coming up soon. I will be flying so can't take too much. So this week I had a little colouring session with my watercolours to see if I fancied taking those. I think I do !! I have a lovely watercolour book that I got given as a present by my hubby and I will be stamping some 'scenes' into it. That way I can still do some art journaling while I and away !
In the meantime I made this art journal with 2 of my water coloured critters.

I love these little critters designed by Elena Zinski and made into rubber stamps by PaperArtsy.

Here's a detail...

I used one of my gelli printed backgrounds for this page. I just added some background stamping and white embossing to make it a little more interesting.

The end is near

Hello everyone,

Today I have an art journal spread made for VivaLasVegaStamps! for you. I thought I'd try something different by not painting the whole pages but leaving some white space which is really difficult for me. I have filmed the process so if you rather watch the movie then click the link below.

I quite like how this turned out, even though I am not a big 'white spacer' !

Here's a detail photo of Mona, she's up to no good !

Here you can see another detail.....

I have used the following stamps for these pages :

Great things

Hello everyone,

and welcome to this blogpost where I am showcasing the wonderful 100 Proof Press Stamps. As you might already know, Sara from 100 Proof Press asked me if I was interested in doing some design  work for her and of course I had to say yes ! Her stamps are wonderful ! I already had some in my collection and I used one of those (The large handsome hares) today  in this art journal spread:

This fantastic Hares Stamp was what attracted my attention to 100 Proof Press. Isn't it absolutely gorgeous ? It stands just over 6" tall !

Here's how I made this spread:

I started off with a piece of Mixed Media paper that I cut in half but kept together with painter's tape. I also painted a layer of gesso on it.

I used different acrylic paints and a brush, my fingers and a baby wipe to apply colour to my page. At this stage I thought: Oh dear..... but I persevered and I do like the end result. So don't give up straight away.....

Next, I stencilled polkadots in the same colours, moved the stencil slightly and repeated with white paint. The stencil is a piece of acetate that I die cut circles into.

I then used a bottle cap and black watered down paint to add circles, a brush for the splatters and a palet knife to add some black in two corners.

Here I added some doodle lines around the edged and stamping too.

I stamped the hares twice because I wasn't sure which paper I wanted to use. I decided on the book text.

After adhering them on the page with gel medium I added a little shading and colour to the hares and also added the sentiment in the same way. Some doodle lines around the strips finished it off.

A detail of those fantastic hares...

A detail of the left bottom corner...

A closer look at a part of the background...

And the sentiment...

I hope you liked my post and just in case you would like some of those fantastic stamps, here are the links to the shop:

Resistance is futile

Hello everyone,

and welcome to another new Challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge Blog! This week we are seeing red and want you all to use your favourite shades of this colour !
Before you enter the competition where you could win a $30 voucher at the end of the month, please read the rules on the blog !

Anyway, here's mine :

I made the background with Distress inks. I smooshed them onto my craft sheet and dipped the card in it. I kept repeating it until I was happy.
I used a Tim Holtz stencil and white paint to add some interest and also some background stamping in similar colours as the background. I coloured in the hearts with Copic Markers.
Little HooHoo was stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copics too. I cut him out and found he didn't stand out enough so I added a circle of white paper stamped with the same hearts I used for the background. I typed this sentiment (from Star Trek when the Borg were getting everyone, yes, I am a bit of a Trekkie) on my old typewriter and added it to the card.
I also used a little washi tape with more hearts.

I used the following stamps:

Happy where she was

Hello everyone,

It's  my turn on the UmWow Studio blog again today and I have an art journal page to share with you.

I have used the Distressed Harlequin Background pieces that I had left over from my last project.

This page was made with a piece of pattern paper by Prima called 'love letter' from the Pastiche collection. I added some 'Old paper' Distress Ink around the edges and collages pieces of an old envelope on it. I bought this in an antique shop and it has a letter too. For now I just used the envelope with the address on it. Next I added some gesso where the chipboard was going to be and  stamped the background randomly for more interest. I then added the stitch lines around the edges with a black marker.
I added my altered chipboard ( I have made a YouTube tutorial of how I did this; link below)  and some other bits and pieces like cambric and some lace flowers and stuck my photo on top.  Lastly I added the sentiment.

Here are some close ups:

This is the chipboard I used. I had some left over pieces from my last project and decided I might as well use them but then in a different way.

Here is the link to the video tutorial :

New stamps at Visible Image

Hello everyone,

I was really excited to get my DT stamps for Visible Image in the post and couldn't wait to make something. So I grabbed my watercolours and got started and before I knew it I had two cards made and here they are :

I stamped the eyes and the sentiment first and then painted the background with yellow, orange and red watercolours. I then stamped over the top with a script stamp. Lastly I added a doodle line around the card panel....

For this one I did the same, first stamp the sentiment then added the watercolours in rainbow order, I added some background stamping with a little flower stamp and similarly coloured inks and added some circles with white paint and a bottle cap and some splatters too. Lastly I drew some faux stitchlines around the panel.

I used the following stamps:

A trio of tags with funny men !

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where today I am sharing three tags that I made for 100 Proof Press Stamps. As you might know, Sara from 100 Proof Press approached me and asked if I could make some stuff with her stamps. I think it is very flattering to be asked so I accepted gracefully ! Her stamps are fabulous, stamps like a dream and there are over 2500 of them... just saying'.....

But without further ado, here are my tags :

Aren't they guys funny !!! haha...

Here's how I made the tags:

I cut three #8 size tags from white card stock and painted them with gesso.

Next I added model paste through a small Tim Holtz stencil..

I then painted the tags with different colours of Amsterdam Acrylics using a paint brush this time.
I thought they didn't look very nice at this stage and wondered if they were going to turn out all right...

Next, I added some drips of darker shades of the same paints. For this I diluted the paint with water. This is a game of layers, adding paint, drying it, adding more paint, drying again... just keep going until you are happy with the result.

I always think every project also needs black and white. I white embossed numbers and for the rings I used black acrylic paint which I diluted with water. I also added white and black splatters.
I thought they looked really nice at this stage.

Here are the guys that I was going to use... I thought about colouring them but because the backgrounds were rather busy already I decided to stamps some script on white paper with grey ink and then stamp the men over top. I cut them out and the adhered everything to the tags.
Lastly I coloured some crinkle ribbon with Distress Inks and added it to the tags.

Here they are again.

He is wondering if it is art. This sentiment actually says 'this is art' but I switched the words and added a question mark..

His ming is magic as it seems to have left.....lol

And this one is seeing double.... haha

I used the following stamps:

6591 Stylish numbers (I love, love, love this one, so versatile)
