Toxic

Hello everyone !

Today I am showing you something that is not so normal for me: a skeleton....  The new Lost Coast Designs Blog HERE is participating in the Skull Appeciation Day blog hop, so why not hop over and have a look ! This is the kick off of an annual "Skellie-Fest" event ! So if you like skeletons and skulls... the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is the place to be....

This is what I made for the Skellie Fest :

I used a #8 tag and coloured it with Distress Inks in greens and blues after stamping the skeleton bird on it. Next I used a water brush and some kitchen paper to blot some of the ink away. I then coloured the bird with pencils. Next I dripped some water on the tag to get some lighter spots. I also dripped some white ink on it. Next I stamped the flourish and the letters spelling toxic. I used a white pen to accentuate the letters..

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

..two days slow...

Hello everyone,

I have an art journal for VivaLasVegaStamps! to share with you today.  First here is the finished article, then sit back, get a drink and enjoy the tutorial... I have to apologise as I used my favourite colour combination yet again !  I love the green and the turquoise together....

Here's how I made it:

First I got out a piece of Mixed Media Paper and put a layer of gesso on it.

Next I gave it some colour using Lindys Stampgang sprays. I used two flat Fabios, 'Merry go round Green' and 'Sea Breeze blue' and one Starburst spray 'Tibetan Poppy Teal'.

Keep on spraying, painting and dripping until you are happy with the result.

Next I used some model paste and a stencil to add some texture.

Then the fun starts with stamping the background. I used a variety of inks: Black Archival, Distress Inks and Memento. There is a full list of stamps I used and their links to VLVS! website is at the bottom of this post.

Next I stamped the main images I was going to use with Memento Ink as I was going to colour them with Copic Markers.

Here's how they look all stamped, coloured, cut out and clear embossed.

I then adhered them to my prepared page. Alice was adhered on some washi tape to ground here. I used a few bit of the same tape around the page for more interest.

The last thing I did was type the sentiment, which is a quote from Alice in Wonderland, on my old trusty typewriter. I cut it out, adhered it to the page and doodled around the srtips with a black pen.
That finished my Art Journal page.

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Smile

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday to you.
There is a new challenge up over at Stampotique and the lovely Gezzy is our hostess. She chose the theme "Favourite, favourite stamp!" and this is what she said :

'We've ALL got one! What's yours! We would love to see your favourite Stampotique images (if you can't pick one!) on your creations this week. Which stamp makes your heart skip a beat!'

Although I love lots of Stampotique Stamps, I always come back to little Smile. He is so cute and when you look back over my projects, he features quite heavily !

Sorry for the slightly wonky picture..
This page in my art journal was started with model paste and a stencil. When it had dried I brushed it with gesso and then coloured it with Lindys Stampgang Sprays and Magicals. I used 2 starbursts: Marigold Yellow Orange and Pretty in pink Pink. The edges were done with a magical in the colour Midnight Rendezvous. I decided to use some chipboards from my stash. I embossed them with WOW embossing glitter "Black glint".  The white stripes were done with acrylic paint and an old credit card. I also went around the edge with a blending tool and black soot Distress Ink. The background was stamped with "Fax to Wolfgang" but you can hardly see it.  I used my all time favourite stamp "Smile". I stamped him on tissue paper which I glued behind the frame and again on white card stock. I coloured him with Copic Markers, cut him out and adhered him to himself on the tissue paper. The whole thing was then adhered to the page. I used diluted white acrylic paint to lighten the area inside the frame. I then glued the other chipboard on and that finished the page.

Here is a close up of the embossing.

I used only two stamps:

Why not play along with us and have a chance of winning one of two $30 vouchers to spend in the online shop at the end of the month ! Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge.

FUN

Hello everyone,

Today,  a new challenge starts over at the Lost Coast Designs blog. I made an art journal to inspire you to take part. You might just win a voucher for some of those lovely stamps... The theme this time is 'numbers'.

I was very lazy this time and used pattern paper instead of making my own background. I used a 12 x 12 sheet. I cut two pieces and stamped the bottom one with numbers and inked the edges. I used Gathered Twigs Distress Ink for this. Next, on the second piece I dripped some diluted DI, stamped some rings with a bottle top and also inked the edges.
The adorable little girl was stamped on this piece of pattern paper and on a piece of white card stock. I coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her onto herself :o) on the pattern paper. I then matted this on some blue card stock and adhered the whole thing onto the piece with the numbers. I added some washi tape and cut 3 squares out of the same paper but the other side and used rub on letters to form the word 'FUN' and that was that !

I used the following stamps:

Why not join us and play along ?

Thanks for stopping by !

I think we ought to live happily ever after!

Hello everyone,

Today is the 1st of June; can you believe it ! Time goes so fast. Anyway I have another postcard to share. I made this as my DT post for Roc. I love postcards and I love Roc's stamps. Especially this screaming bunny !

I started with a piece of white card stock to which I glued some of Tim Holtz' tissue paper. I then painted it with a very thin coat of gesso to soften the black print of the tissue paper. Next I used PaperArtsy fresco paint in the colour 'Limelight' and when this dried I added some more gesso. I also sanded it in between layers. This gives a nice shabby look. I used some patterned paper for the bottom. I just cut the top along the flowers. Next I stamped the dog, coloured him and positioned him on the card and glued the patterned paper over the top. I then took it to my sewing machine and stitched around the card twice. I think this gives a nice effect. I also accentuated the top of the flowers with a green Big Brush Marker which I also used to stamp the swirls. You just scribble on the stamp and stamp it ! Next I stamped the bunny and coloured him with Copic Markers, same as the dog. I cut him out and adhered him to the card. The last thing was the sentiment which I typed on my old typewriter and cut out. I doodled around the edges and adhered them to the card.
That was it.

I used the following stamps:

You can find Roc's stamps at Stampotique HERE.

Thank you for stopping by !

Imagine

Hello everyone,

Today I am hosting the monthly challenge over at Katzelkraft ! I chose the theme of 'circles' and made an art journal. I would love it if you would play along with us this month....
Here are the rules:

  • The first rule is use Katzelkraft stamps on your entry.
  • The prize is a voucher of 15 euro that you can spend in the Katzelkraft shop. The voucher is valid for Katzelkraft rubber stamps only.
  • The challenge will close on the 25th of each month.

So, without further ado, here is my journal :

I painted the page with Dylusions paint in the colour Squeezed Orange. I used a blending tool and Rusty Hinge Distress Ink to make the edges a little darker. I then took a stencil and white Dylusions paint to make the circles. When this had dried I put the stencil back on and offset it just a little and drew in some of the circles with a pen.
Next I punched some circles out of book pages and glued them here and there on the page. I then stamped the background and the sentiment. The sentiment was clear embossed and I used a white gel pen to accentuate the letters.
The owl was stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copic Markers, clear embossed and cut out. I cut another circle from book pages, this time with a die and used the same Distress Ink around the edges and drew a smaller circle just around the edge. The owl was adhered to the circle on some washi tape. I also used some more washi tape here and there on the page. Lastly I doodled a line around the page.

I used stamped from the set KTZ142

Thank you for stopping by ! I hope I gave you enough inspiration to play along with us..
