Create happy memories

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well.
For today's AALL & Create project I have made a little tag album. I used just inks, stamps and stencils. Oh, and a tiny bit of white paint for the inside of the album.

And here is how I made it:

First I took a piece of Mixed media paper from one of my A4 pads. I didn't measure it because I didn't think that was important. I folded the paper up about a third, again I didn't measure it. This flap is to become pockets for tags.
To decorate my album I used two stencils and three colours of Distress Oxide Inks (Broken China, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry). I used the stencils to print. This is a very effective but easy technique where you rub the ink pad over the stencil and spritz with water, you then put the inked side onto the paper and blot with kitchen paper.

After it was all dry I added some stamping. I didn't realise that the bottom right 4 would be upside down as soon as I folded the flap up. Oh well... lol

This is the inside of the album and I added some more ink this time by putting the ink on my craft sheet, spritzing with water and dunking the paper in it. I repeated this until I was happy, drying the layers in between. I then added a bit of stencilling with white paint. I only decorated the top because the bottom will fold up over.

I then used the same colours of ink to dye a piece of ribbon.
Next I folded the 'pocket strip' up and folded the whole thing into four the other way. You can see my upside down 4 here. I then took it to my sewing machine and stitched over the fold lines to create pockets. I stitched the ribbons inside of the pockets left and right.
That was my album done !

This is how it looks on the outside folded out. I did add some doodling as well.
Now to work on the tags that will go inside the pockets.

I decided to used the same stencil and the same colours of ink. I mixed the blue with the yellow for the second tag to get a greenish colour. I used the same technique by rubbing the ink pad over the stencil, spritzing with water and printing.

When dry I stamped the background and did some doodling along the edges.

Next, I stamped the focal images for the tags and coloured them with Copic Markers:

SO cute !

The finished tags.

Here is what the book looks like closed (front).

A small tag book for AALL & Create

Hello everyone,

For today's Guest Designpost for AALL & Create I have made a small book out or a tag that I cut out of Mixed Media paper.

Here is how:

This is the outside of the tag, I used my sewing machine to add a piece of MM paper on the inside. You can't see that here. I painted the outside with turquoise and white paint and then added some printing with this fab stencil !

I did the same to the inside of the tag. For the little piece of paper inside I used different colours. This is a combination of inks and paint.

I added stamping, birds at the top and a little train at the bottom. I later coloured these of course. I used Faber Castell Big Brush Markers for this because they work fabulously on painted backgrounds.

I stamped these little 'Dog toys' to colour and use as my main images.

All finished colouring; I used Copic Markers to colour these, I then cut them out.

I added a little background stamping and glued this little cutie on the front.

On the inside page, I placed the other three dog toys and added some stamping and some hearts.

The sentiment is on the outside of the page that I put in the tag.

Close ups of the right hand page.

And the left hand page.

I have used :
Stamp set #249 - Dog toys by Janet Klein
Stamp set #76 - Classic Caravan by Bipasha Bk
Stamp set #144 - Farmhouse tales by Bipasha Bk
Stamp set #234 - Brush Flower by Tracy Evans
Stencil #45 - Digital Bubbles by Autour de Maw

Imagine, a tag book for AALL & Create

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create post I have made a tag book. I love making little books, it is very satisfying.

I used lots of stamps and stencils for this and here's how I made it:

I cut these tags with a die from white card stock and gave them some colour with Acrylic paints on the gelli plate. I also used the stencils with a darker shade to add some interest.

I made the tags into an accordion book with washitape; I used extra glue to make sure everything stays put. I then stamped the backgrounds. By the way the back is roughly the same, printed and stamped as well.

Next I took stamp sets #199 and @200 and stamped them on the tags and on white card stock. I also chose the sentiments and stamped those too.

I coloured all the flowers, using Copic Markers.

After cutting them out I adhered them over the top of the stamped images. I then added splatters with a white paint pen.. I love this effect.

I then added the sentiments; I matted them on black card stock to make them stand out more and added a ribbon so you can close the book:

I also decorated the front tag on the back because it shows when the book is closed. The rest of the tags are just painted and stencilled at the back.

I have used the following stamps:
#211 - Count on you by Aida Domisiewicz
#212 - Bright side by Aida Domisiewicz
#199 - Eclectic stems by Tracy Evans
#200 - Hope by Tracy Evans

Stencils:
#30 - Numbers by Autour de Mwa
#41 - Mickle Muckle by Autour de Mwa
#58 - Mock Croc by Autour de Maw
