This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday!

For today's project I have made a postcard. As some of you might know Janet has been visiting London and Paris recently and brought out some digistamps to celebrate. I did London last week so today it is Paris' turn. I have never been to Paris; I wonder if it is nice?

Isn't he cute?
I made the background by cutting a piece of card stock to 4 x 6 making it a postcard. I then searched my stash for blue and red pieces of leftover paper. I found some! Yay! The blue has been colours with what looks like Distress ink and there  is some embossing over the top. The red is a gelliprint I made with Copic Refills and a feather stencil. I added some stamping, a French postage stamp, some washi tape by Janet from AALL & Create with French words and the sentiment was made with a tape embosser. The little guy was printed, coloured and cut out and adhered onto the card. I added a post mark stamp to the postage stamp.
You'll find this cute little guy together with a cute girl and some accessories HERE.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have a postcard to share. It is a postcard from London as our Janet Klein has been visiting London and brought out this set for that especially.

I made the background with a years old stencil by Visible Image which I think fits perfectly. I coloured the images and cut them out then adhered them to the card. I found a postage stamp that worked well colour wise so I decided to use that. I used an AALL & Create stamp by Tracy for the postmark. I stamped it around the edge here and there and added some more stamping with a text stamp by Janet.
The sentiment is London Slang for a cup of tea and I thought that was quite funny!
I added some shading under her and Big Ben and that was that !

You find the London Goofball HERE.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's project for Vera Lane Studio I have made a 6" x 6" journal page. I have used and older image from the set 'Wanderlust'.

First I coloured the girl with my Copic Markers and cut her out. I then made the background using an AALL & Create stencil and alcohol inks on the gelli plate. When it was done I thought it was so nice that I didn't really want to add anything to it. So I left it as it was. I cut a circle from vellum with a die to make her stand out a little more, added a stamp and a clippings sticker.
Lastly I added the sentiment and used a marker to add some shading here and there.

You'll find this fabulous travelling girl HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Drink coffee and raise chickens

 Hi everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a postcard. I love watercouloring but usually grab my Copics when I have to colour something. This time I thought I would take a little time and use my watercolours. I enjoyed it very much.

Here's how I made it:

First I stamped this cute chick image on a postcard size piece of watercolour paper.

I then painted the chicks with three shades of yellow. I used an orangy yellow for the feet and beaks.

I used a turquoise wash around the chicks to make them stand out more.

Next I added some stencilling using Distress Oxide ink in Broken China.

I then stamped parts of this stamp over the stencilling and brayered some white paint over it to tone it all down a little.

Because it is a postcard I wanted to add a postage stamp and I found this one in my stash. It has a chick on it.. so fun! I used one of Abs' wisecracks circle stamps to 'stamp' the postage stamp. I also used it in two different places on the card for balance.

Lastly I added yellow paint splatters and added some grey watercolour around the edges of the card to frame it.

I used the following materials:

Stencil : #143 - Creatively Crossed by Autour de Mwa
Stamps:
#554 - Lined Cross by Bipasha Bk
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa
#559 - Feathered friends by Bipasha Bk
