This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

and Happy Thursday to you. For today's Vera Lane Studio Post I have made a postcard and an ATC.

This postcard was made with a piece of watercolour paper and Distress Oxide sprays. I then added some paints with a brayer to get it more the same colours as the girl, adding mostly ochre. I also added a piece of old booktext. The girl was coloured with coloured pencils.
I have used the newly released set called : 'Heart and Star' and you can find it HERE.

The second project is a little ATC with one of the collage sheet Fat Cats. I think he is hilarious.. lol
I added a piece of a doily to the gel printed ATC and some washi tape for him to sit on. The white dots and the sticker finished it off.

You'll find the Fat Cats HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today !

To the moon and back

Hello everyone,
Hallo allemaal,

Today I have a card to share that I made with the latest new stamp brand that is available at Hobbycompleet De Duif; AALL&Create ! Aren't they fabulous !

Voor vandaag heb ik weer een kaart gemaakt met de nieuwste stempellijn die bij Hobbycompleet de Duif verkrijgbaar is; de AALL& Create stempels. Zijn ze niet geweldig.

For this card I used white card stock. I stamped it with grey and black inks using images from set #22. I added some Distress Oxide Ink in fossilised Amber around the edges. Next I stamped the moon and the sentiment with black ink on white card stock. I cut out the moon and then used a die to cut a bigger circle to mat it on. I also matted the sentiment on black card stock so it would stand out a little more. The moon was coloured with coloured pencils.  I then adhered it to the card.

Music

Hello everyone,

Today I have a card for Visible Image to share. The challenge this month is "Distress it" so I made a vintage-type card. I hope it gives you inspiration to play along in the challenge !

On a piece of kraft card stock I stamped the stars. I used Archival ink in the colour Potting Soil; I used the same ink to ink the edges and added some black Archival over the top later. I then distressed the edges. The guitar was stamped on book pages and torn out. The edges were inked with the same brown ink. I added the word Music and coloured in the letters on the guitar with a blue coloured pencil. Lastly I matted the panel on a black card.

I used the following stamps:

Stand out

Hello everyone,

and welcome to August ! I have a few posts to share to today and this is one of them. It is my project for Visible Image. I have made a card.

On a piece of white card stock I sprinkled Brusho's. I then used my finger to rub them into the paper. Once that was done I used the sentiment stamp from the set and water to stamp onto the card. This is like magic !!! When I had finished stamping the whole card panel I lightly misted it with water. Not too much because everything will blend into one. I think this is a really cool effect and also the only way I can use Brusho's because, control freak that I am, I hate using stuff that behaves unpredictably... lol
Anyway, I then stamped the legs on the card together with the sentiment. On a separate piece of paper  I stamped the shoe part again, this time with green ink and when this had dried I added some shading with a coloured pencil. I then cut the shoes out and adhered them on top of the ones on the card. A few white accents finished the panel off. I adhered the panel onto a white card.

I have used the stamp set 'Teenage Kicks' and you'll find it HERE.

Always know in your heart..

Hello everyone,

I watched a video from the very talented Jenn Engle on YouTube and she used a die cut over another piece of paper to add texture to her art journal. I thought this was so cool that I had to try it out too.
If you want to see Jenn's video click HERE

I diecut the flourishes first in opposite corners and then adhered it to another page. I then added a layer of gesso.
Unlike Jenn I didn't use any paint in this page. I coloured it with Distress Crayons only. I have had these for ages and I don't really use them. I scribbled them on and then smudged them with my fingers.  I sealed the page by rolling gel medium on to the gelli plate and 'printing' it onto my page. I then did some random stamping.
I chose my main image, stamped her, coloured her lightly and cut her out. I adhered her on some washi tape so she isn't floating. The sentiment was stamped, cut into strips and adhered also. Lastly I doodled around the page and the words and that was it !
All the supplies I used are by Ranger/Tim Holtz.
