This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a journal page in my 8 x 8 Dylusions journal.

These little sea critters came out this week and I think they are adorable.
I printed them and coloured and cut them out; I used Copic Markers for colouring.
I then made the background using my 6 x 6 gelli plate. I stamped it randomly and placed the little critters where I wanted them. I added a sentiment and some pencil lines along the edges and that finished off the page.

You'll find the 'Seacritters' HERE

Happy Birthday

 Hello everyone,

Today I have a birthday card to share. I made this one for AALL & Create and I used one of Janet's little peeps.

Here's how:

First I stamped the girl I was going to use as my focal point, coloured her and then cut her out.

Next I cut a piece of card stock that is slightly smaller than the card. I coloured it with oil pastels en then added some white paint with a brayer over the top to tone it down. I also added some stencilling with Archival ink.

Next: I stamped the background randomly with the same Archival inks (Magenta Hue and Saffron) and Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I then drew a line along the edges and added some washi tape.

I then put the girl on the washi tape and added the sentiment.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Washi tape : #19 - Wishy Washy by Janet Klein
Stencil: #85 - Abundance by Olga Heldwein
Stamps:
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#494 - X or O by Janet Klein
#666 - Everyday Sentiments by Janet Klein
#677 - Flower Eye by Janet Klein

Do what makes your soul shine

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today it is time for yet another AALL & Create project. I have made an artjournal page with one of Bipasha's new stamps. In fact the whole page is made with only Bipasha's stamps, stencil and washitape.

Here's how:

First I made a gelli print with this stencil

Next I stamped the background

I then toned it down with white paint and a brayer.  I also added some more stencilling using white paint, a blending tool and the same stencil as before.

I put a pieces of washi tape down.

This is my focal point. I stamped it on the page, without the sentiment on the top and also on a piece of card stock to colour and cut out.

I coloured the bird with watercolours and added some white accents here and there.

I then glued him im place and added some white splatters. Lastly I matted the page on black card stock.

I have used the following materials, all by Bipasha Bk

Washi tape #24 - Power Words
Stencil #146 - Reverse Cobweb
Stamps:
#349 - Bold Alphas Mini
#443 - Scripted Circles
#457 - Background Voices
#711 - Airborne

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made a postcard with an older set called Ground Music.

She was printed, coloured with Copic Markers and cut out together with the sentiment. I then made the background with Distress Oxide inks by dunking the paper in the ink on my craft sheet that I spritzed with water. After it dried I added stencilling using white paint and an AALL & Create stencil. I put down some pieces of book paper and also some stamping with Janet's stamp set #338 by AALL & Create. I inked the edges and that was that! I glued the little girl on the card and added the sentiment.

You'll find the set HERE

Wish you were here

 Hello everyone,

For the second travel inspired piece for Country View Challenges I have made a postcard:

Here's how I made it:

I coloured my postcard sized (6x4) piece of card stock with Distress Oxide inks using blending tools and also by dunking it into the ink on my craft sheet that I spritzed with water.

Next I sprayed this stencil with water and pressed it onto the card. It leaves a faint image of the stencil.

I had to tone it down a little; I used a brayer and white acrylic paint.

Stamping the background.

I found this Katzelkraft stamp of some of the worlds great sites which I have never used ! lol
So I decided to stamp it twice on this card.

I added the black line under the buildings to ground them and made the sentiment out of Tim Holtz big talk stickers. I didn't have all the words so I just used bits of words and stuck them together. I also added white splatters and some doodle lines around the edges.

We would love it if you played along with us but make sure to read the rules on the blog before you do !

Thank you for stopping by today !

A silent place

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing another project for AALL & Create. This time I have made an artjournal page.

Here is how:

I dunked my paper (Approx, A5) in Distress Oxide ink Antique Linen and Fossilised Amber. I then added texture paste with a stencil.

Next I printed this stencil by dunking it into ink and printing on the page. I used Fossilised Amber DOI for this.

Next background stamping using DOI Fossilised Amber, Ground Espresso and Versafine Clair in Nocturne.

I then added some pieces of washi tape.

Stamping the focal image

All coloured and cut out, ready to go on the page.

Here it is all complete. Love it ! Oh, I also added some black splatters using a Posca paint pen.

A small talk sticker by Tim Holtz finished it off.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! Today I have made a clean and simple card. I matted it on a piece of pattern paper and I think it looks great.

All I did was print the images on a piece of cardstock and coloured them with my Copics.

This set is called 'Beautiful Ride' and came out this week.

You'll find it HERE.

The universe is yours

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a mini book:

Here's how I made it.

This was an experiment. I have made a lot of these so called zine books and if you use paper that is too thick it will not sit properly. So, for this one I decided to use a single sheet of 80 gsm typing paper.
It works but would probably work better with a slightly thicker paper as this is a little flimsy.
I dunked the paper into Distress Oxide ink Weatered Wood and then folded into the shape. I then added the stencilling and stamping.

This is what is looks like folded.

Next I added some more stamping, this time in yellow, pink and blue.

I chose the images I wanted to use and coloured them and cut them out.

I added a piece of washi tape and a sentiment.

Same for this page and the next

These little books are great fun and a good way of collecting you favourite images.

I have used :

Stencils:
#97 - Starry night by Janet Klein
#136 - Bug Hotel by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#692 - African Voices by Janet Klein
#697 - Kenyan Boy by Janet Klein
#707 - Cleopatra by Janet Klein
#736 - Morocco by Janet Klein
