Within my heart

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today it is time for another AALL & Create project. I have made a small Mixed Media panel. I just used a piece of cardboard from a watercolour pad for the base and a piece of old fabric from my stash to embellish it. Anyway, here it is

And here's how:

I started with a piece of cardboard from the back of a watercolour block. I added a thin layer of Gesso and then added some of the plain washi tape. (There is a list of all the AALL & Create products I have used at the bottom of this post).

Next I used a gel medium to glue a piece of fabric on the card board. I then added some texture paste through this fab stencil, just using a small part of it.

Next I used a spray ink (Lindy's Stamp Gang) to add some colour to the texture paste so the flowers stand out more. I then stamped the background here and there with this stamp and some Distress Oxide ink. I used Weathered Wood because that was similar the the spray ink I used.

I then added some more stamping, this time in black.

To edge the black stamping I usually use black acrylic paint but today I thought I use a sliver of this fab washi tape.

I then stamped the flamingo of this set by Bipasha and coloured him, trying to stay close to the pale pink shades in the fabric. I found that combining two Zig watercolour markers and some pencil matched pretty well. I then cut him out, or is it a she?? lol

I then cut the flaming out and..

adhered him to my little panel after trying a piece of twine around it, just for fun and because it had been lying on my desk for ages... Last thing was the sentiment which consists of two Clippings stickers by Tim Holtz. And there you have it !

I really enjoy doing mixed media and this was great to make. Especially because the panel and the scrap of fabric I used was basically rubbish. It is even more satisfying when you can make something out of nothing.

I used the following AALL & Create materials

Border stamping block

Washi:
#7 - 25 mm
#6 - Crafty

Stencil:
#90 - Elegance by Olga Heldwein

Stamps:
#443 - Scripted circles by Bipasha Bk
#434 - Newsprint Numbers by Olga Heldwein
#391 - Orchid Cluster by Bipasha Bk
