Garden Journal

Hello everyone,

For this weeks AALL & Create post I have decorated a notebook.

And here's how:

First I added a strip of cotton on the spine, I used fabric glue to attach it, I then gessoed the book and added yellow and green paint with a brayer. I put the stencil on top and wiped away the paint with a baby wipe. This didn't work great so instead I used white paint and dabbed it through the stencil. I did the same thing on the back.

Here's a close up

Next I used a  bunch of stamps to add some interest. I used Distress Oxide inks and Archival ink to stamp.

Next, I stamped this flower and coloured it with my Copic markers.

I found these two words to add, making the book a 'garden journal'.

I added a black mat and glued the flower and the words to the front of the book. I also added some black paint around the edges and some white splatters.

On the back I added a sentiment from Tracy's 'Doodled Blooms' set and that finished the book.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil #85 - Abundance by Olga Heldwein

Stamps:

#109 - Blossomed numbers by Tracy Evans
#140 - Doodled blooms by Tracy Evans
#67 - Vintage assorted by Olga Heldwein
#234 - Brush flower by Tracy Evans
#262 - mesh by Tracy Evans
#235 - All measured up by Tracy Evans

I love you like...

Hello everyone,

This post is the second inspiration piece for the Country View Challenges January challenge with the theme 'LOVE' in the widest sense! I have made a card and tried to make it a little humorous.

and here's how:

I went shopping before Christmas and was given a paper bag with one of my purchases. I liked the pink and white stripes so much that I decided to keep it and use it for my card today.

First I used a brayer and added some white paint, then I used a stencil and added some hearts with Distress Oxide Ink in Victorian Velvet.

Next I stamped the word love with grey StaZon ink (only used StaZon because it was the perfect colour) and used the ink pad to ink up the edges.

Next I stamped the main image and the sentiment on a piece of book paper and cut them out.

And here it is all put together. I added a black mat and adhered the whole thing to a white card base.

Thank you so much for stopping by today ! I hope you play along with us. You will find all the information about the current challenge when you click the link at the top of this post.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made 2 postcards.

The first is this lovable Ragdoll from this week's release. I resized and printed him, coloured him with Copic and coloured pencils and cut him out. I put him on this piece of gelli printed paper from my stash. You'll find the "Ragdolls" HERE.

This postcard was made with "Dream Fairy"; this is an older set but still available HERE.
I made a background with a Tim Holtz die and Neocolors II. I printed the fairy, coloured her with my Copics and placed her on some tissue paper and glued her to the card. I then added the sentiment which is from the same set.

I don't give a monkey's

Hello everyone,

For my first 2020 project for AALL & Create I have made an art journal page.

How fun are these monkeys !

Here's how I made this page:

I made a gelliprint with acrylic paint and used this stencil to add some interest. I rolled the paint onto the gelli plate, put the stencil on it and then bartered over again. I then took the stencil off and printed.

Here's a better picture of what it looks like.

Next I used this stencil to add more interest. This time I used it in the traditional way by putting it onto my print and dabbing white paint through it.

Next I stamped the background randomly with the mesh stamp and the numbers of the brush stamp. I used Distress Oxide ink and black Versafine Clair.

Next I added black paint along the edges and used this stencil to add some texture paste.

I die cut this and planned to use the numbers too. But in the end I just used part of the main die cut.

I stamped, coloured and cut out the monkeys.

Cut out another die.. only used part of this one too, to hang the monkey on.

And here it is all put together... so much fun to make !

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stamps:
#241 - Go Bananas by Olga Heldwein
#262 - Mesh by Tracy Evans
#234 - Brush Flower by Tracy Evans

Stencils:
#89 - Dahlias  by Autour de Mwa
#85 - Abundance by Olga Heldwein

Dies:
#12 - Code by Bipasha BK
#13 - Bursting buds by Bipasha BK

Food soothes the soul

Hello everyone,

and a very Happy New Year to you all! I hope it brings you everything you wish for.

For my first post of 2020 I have made a postcard.

I used a piece of Tim Holtz' worn wallpaper for the background. I did add some paint to distress it even further and I inked the edges with Distress Oxide ink. I then got a piece of paper bag on which I stamped the recipe card and the cow, inking the edges with the same Oxide ink. I also stamped the cow on Kraft card stock and coloured him lightly with pencils. I added some random stamping and finally added the sentiment that I stamped on a scrap of the wallpaper, inked the edges and matted it on black card stock.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials :

Worm wallpaper (Halloween version)  - Tim Holtz
Acrylic paint - Buff
Distress Oxide ink - Vintage Photo
Archival ink - Jet Black

This week at Vera Lane Studio.

Hello everyone,

and happy Thursday and happy new Year to you all.

For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made 2 postcards.

This card was made with Yoda from the 'Princess Leia and Yoda' set.
The background was made with a gelli plate and Distress Oxide inks and a stencil. Yoda is placed on a die cut from AALL & Create.

For this one I used 'Just adorable' and the sentiment is from "Firefly fairies'.
This background is a gelli print and I accentuated the shapes with the same stencil and white paint. The little flowers at the top were left from the die cut in the first card.
