Hello everyone,
and welcome to my first December post for AALL & Create. I made a 6 x 6 panel today and I couldn't resist to use Quack the Duck again. He is irresistible !
Here is how I made it:
I started off with a piece of 6 x 6 white card stock. I brayered pink paint on it and after that dried I did the same with orange. When this was still wet I used the letter stencil to add some interest. I didn't like the result so resorted to brayering white paint over the top. Still didn't like it....lol
Next I added more white paint and repeated the proces with the letterstencil. I then added more stencilling in the 'conventional way by pushing paint through this bubble stencil with a sponge. I still added more white along the edges with the brayer.
Next I added background stamping with Black Archival ink. I used the Red Baron A4 stamp for this. I am also using the set Next to it but you can see that in the photo below. I also added a little stencil-stamping with the bubble stencil and pink Distress Oxide ink. I wasn't entirely happy with the stamping because I thought is was too black, too thick so I brayered more white paint over it. This is becoming my motto : If in doubt, brayer white paint over it ! lol
Next I added stamping with Broken China Distress Oxide ink and a stamp from the "for the record" set. I also added the circles from that set with grey Archival ink and one of the sentiments from the "Quack the Duck" set and black Archival ink. I like to stamp in clusters; I think it adds a lot of interest and depth.
I then stamped the puddle jumping duck and the sentiment I was going to use and coloured both with my Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them to my panel.
Before gluing the duck down I added some blue splatters and I also stamped the same image on my panel to get all the little drops that you cannot cut out and because I thought it didn't stand out enough I added, yes, you guessed it, a little more white paint !
And there is it complete with last minute added doodling !
So here is a photo of the finished project with all the stamps and stencils I used.
