This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made an ATC with an older set called 'Tomboy'.

First I cut an ATC size (3,5" x 2,5") piece out of paper out of a gelli print.
I added a little stamping and then glued the washi tape on it. I added a border with a black pen and coloured the image and cut her out. I placed her on the tape to ground her and lastly I added the sentiment which is from the same set.

This cutie is still available on request.

Thank you for stopping by today !

A hippity hoppity birthday

 Hello everyone,

For the first August AALL & Create project I have made a birthday card for a furry animal lover.

Here is how I made this:

First I watercoloured this adorable bunny.

I then made a simple background with a stencil and Distress Oxide ink. I rubbed the ink pads over the stencil (Fossilised Amber & Rusty Hinge) and spritzed water over it. I then printed the stencil on the card.

I then stamped the background randomly.

Adding some washi tape to stand little bunny on and a bit in the top right corner to balance it.

I decided to make up a new sentiment, lol.

and here she is! Lastly I added some turquoise pencil around the words and glued the panel on a white card.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil #147 - Coffee Stains by Bipasha Bk
Washi tape #21 - Beach Rock by Janet Klein
Stamps:
#304 - Heartfelt by Tracy Evans
#366 - Roundly by Auto de Mwa
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#666 - Everyday Sentiments by Janet Klein
#678 - Hippity Hoppity by Janet Klein

Cheers & Happy birthday

 Hi everyone,

Today sees the start of yet another challenge over at Country View Challenges. This month Monika is hosting and her chosen theme is "Birthday card/gift". I have made a card with my most favourite girl by Janet Klein for AALL & Create: Miss Dee. It is a really simple and quick card which is good when you realise you forgotten to make one for your wine-loving friend!

Here is how I made this really simple and quick card:

I started off by colouring Miss Dee. I used Copic Markers for this because for me this is the quickest way of colouring.

Next I cut a panel out of some designer paper and rolled over some white paint with a brayer. While that was still slightly wet I sprinkled on some embossing powder and heated it. It has now some patchy spots of embossing.

Next I added some washi tape, also by AALL & Create, to stand her on and some in the top right hand corner for balance.

I stamped two of the sentiments of this set, also by Janet Klein for AALL & Create and cut them out. I adhered them to the panel.

I added some black lines under the words and adhered the panel onto a white card.

We would love it if you played along with us! Just make sure to read the rules on the Country View Challenges blog before you so. (Link up top).

A good selection of AALL & Create stamps are available from Country View Crafts.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a journal page in my 8 x 8 Dylusions journal.

These little sea critters came out this week and I think they are adorable.
I printed them and coloured and cut them out; I used Copic Markers for colouring.
I then made the background using my 6 x 6 gelli plate. I stamped it randomly and placed the little critters where I wanted them. I added a sentiment and some pencil lines along the edges and that finished off the page.

You'll find the 'Seacritters' HERE

Happy Birthday

 Hello everyone,

Today I have a birthday card to share. I made this one for AALL & Create and I used one of Janet's little peeps.

Here's how:

First I stamped the girl I was going to use as my focal point, coloured her and then cut her out.

Next I cut a piece of card stock that is slightly smaller than the card. I coloured it with oil pastels en then added some white paint with a brayer over the top to tone it down. I also added some stencilling with Archival ink.

Next: I stamped the background randomly with the same Archival inks (Magenta Hue and Saffron) and Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I then drew a line along the edges and added some washi tape.

I then put the girl on the washi tape and added the sentiment.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Washi tape : #19 - Wishy Washy by Janet Klein
Stencil: #85 - Abundance by Olga Heldwein
Stamps:
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#494 - X or O by Janet Klein
#666 - Everyday Sentiments by Janet Klein
#677 - Flower Eye by Janet Klein

Do what makes your soul shine

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today it is time for yet another AALL & Create project. I have made an artjournal page with one of Bipasha's new stamps. In fact the whole page is made with only Bipasha's stamps, stencil and washitape.

Here's how:

First I made a gelli print with this stencil

Next I stamped the background

I then toned it down with white paint and a brayer.  I also added some more stencilling using white paint, a blending tool and the same stencil as before.

I put a pieces of washi tape down.

This is my focal point. I stamped it on the page, without the sentiment on the top and also on a piece of card stock to colour and cut out.

I coloured the bird with watercolours and added some white accents here and there.

I then glued him im place and added some white splatters. Lastly I matted the page on black card stock.

I have used the following materials, all by Bipasha Bk

Washi tape #24 - Power Words
Stencil #146 - Reverse Cobweb
Stamps:
#349 - Bold Alphas Mini
#443 - Scripted Circles
#457 - Background Voices
