November

Hi everyone,

I have another instalment  for the 100 Proof Press 2017 calendar and today it is November's turn !

I painted the paper with acrylic paints, using a brayer. I then added some background stamping. I heat embossed the numbers with a copper embossing powder and the smaller text was stamped with Archival ink. I then stamped the man on a blank a piece of dictionary paper, cut him our and adhered him together with some words from the same dictionary.
The saying was found on internet and typed and adhered. I will be back next month with the last page.

Hi everyone,

I have another instalment  for the 100 Proof Press 2017 calendar and today it is October's turn !

I coloured the page with Distress Oxide inks in Autumnal colours and coloured the bird the same way. I cut him out and adhered him on a piece of dictionary paper. I also stamped the background lightly.
The saying was found on internet and typed and adhered. I will be back next month with another page.

September

Hi everyone,

I have another instalment  for the 100 Proof Press 2017 calendar and I am quickly running out of pages as the year is flying by !
Here is what I came up with for September :

She looks like I feel about Summer almost being over... I do NOT like winter.
So I took one of my gelli printed papers and added some background stamping and some doodling around the edges.
I stamped her on the page and on some book paper, cut her out and coloured in her face a little. I then adhered her to herself on the page. I did make her dress a little longer to make the image bigger. It fits the page a bit better like this.
The saying was found on internet and typed and adhered. I will be back next month with another page.

August

Hello everyone,

It's August ! Can you believe it ...

I have made another calendar page for 100 Proof Press Stamps :

I normally make my own backgrounds but for this one I used a piece of pattern paper. It reminds me of boardwalks which remind me of vacation and Summer.
I stamped this piece of paper randomly and then added the icecreams. They were stamped separately and coloured with Copic markers, cut out and adhered. The word summertime is made with sticky letters.. I hope you are enjoying your Summer !!!

July

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my calendar page for July  ! I used 100 Proof Press for this page as usual. You'll find all the lovely stamps from them HERE !

Here's my page for July :

I have used Acrylic Paints and a gelli plate for the background and added some stencilling and stamping. The fly was stamped straight onto the page and also on book paper. I cut him out of the book paper and then adhered him on top of the one on the page. That way he looks perfect even if you happen to cut a leg off ! lol    The sentiment was typed on my old typewriter.

June

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my calendar page for June  ! I used 100 Proof Press for this page as usual. You'll find all the lovely stamps from them HERE !

Here's my page for June :

I have used Acrylic Paints and a gelli plate for the background; this is a great way of making a quick background. Next I used a white gel pen to add the drops and puddles. The dog in the cup was stamped separately and coloured with Copic markers. I cut the image out and added to the page. I cut a slit in the background and let the saucer of the cup sit in here to make it look as if he is floating in a puddle.   The sentiment was typed on my old typewriter.

May

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my calendar page for May ! I used 100 Proof Press for this page as usual. You'll find all the lovely stamps from them HERE !

Here's my page for May :

I have used Tim's Oxide inks for the background. I have put them on my craft sheet and then dunked my piece of paper in it.  These colours are pretty perfect for Spring I think.  I added some stamping with the same inks and doodled around the edges.
I stamped the Hares on a piece of pattern paper (looks white but there is some hints of pink in it) and than cut them out leaving a small white border around them. I glued them on the page and cut off the excess.  The sentiment was typed on my old typewriter.

April

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my calendar page for April ! I used 100 Proof Press for this page as usual. You'll find all the lovely stamps from them HERE !

Here's my page for April :

I was experimenting with Tim's Oxide inks the other day and after using a stencil I spritzed it with water and put it face down on a piece of card stock and hey presto another background was born. I thought these colours would be perfect for Spring. I added some stamping with the same inks and doodled around the edges.
I coloured another piece of paper with the same inks and stamped the bird on it. I cut him out, added more colour to his beak and legs and then glued him to the background. The sentiment was typed on my old typewriter.

March

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my calendar page for March ! I used 100 Proof Press for this page as usual. You'll find all the lovely stamps from them HERE !

Here's my page for March :

Unfortunately I totally forgot to take any photos while I was making this... I got so carried away. I had this idea for ages and wanted to try and do it for real !

I started with the wall. I put modelling paste through a stencil to make the bricks. I used paint and a Faber Castell Big Brush Marker to colour and shade the bricks. After that was done, I painted the left side turquoise, varying the shading by adding white. Next I stamped the background with turquoise and grey Archival Inks.  The baby girl was stamped on white Neenah card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. I then cut her out and cut a slit on the border between the blue and the wall. I slipped her in there and glued her in place. The sentiment was typed on my old typewriter.

February

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my 2nd Calendar post for 100 Proof Press. I will do one page per month and this is February's.

Here's how I made it:

I decided to go with a gelli printed background. First I did a base layer with the Teresa Green and Granny Smith. I then overprinted with the Captain Peacock but after I stamped into the wet paint on the plate with a rubber stamp in the middle (Stylish numbers) and a coaster on the left side.
Make sure to wash your stamps straight away if you use them with paint because once it dries it is very difficult to get off.

This is the result after the second layer of printing..

Next I added some stencilling with a Plum coloured paint and some stamping with great Archival Ink (Profit and loss sheet).

Next I stamped the Handstand Clown and coloured him with Copic Markers and cut him out.

Here you see it all put together. I added a metal clock charm which a painted with rust paste for the clown to (hand) stand on and I typed the sentiment on my old typewriter, cut into word strips and added to the page. I added some colour on the strips with a Copic Marker.

And here is how it looks on the wall ! Fabulous isn't it !

January

Hello everyone,

I was really exited when Sara Vukson from 100 Proof Press asked me if I was interested in doing some design work for her. Of course I couldn't say no ! It is a great honour to be asked I think !
100 Proof Press has been in existence since 1980 ! In December of 2010 Sara Vukson purshased the company and moved it to the present location in St. Paris Ohio. Their catalog contains over 2500 timeless images, finely detailed and visually diverse.

Anyway, I will be doing some projects for her in the month of February so watch this space !

Besides  the lovely rubber stamps she sent met for this job, she also sent me a calendar for 2017, one of those you can decorate yourself and I will do one page every month. This is January's and I know it is a little late but from next month I will post around the 5th of the month..

Here's page one : January:

and here's how I made this:

I coloured a piece of card stock with Distress Inks and a blending tool. I used Broken China, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord and a little bit of Black Soot. Keep adding colour and keep blending until you are happy with the result.

I used water and a stencil to create snowflakes and also splattered some water on it but I didn't really think it was white enough so I repeated the process using paint and the same stencil in a few places on the paper.

Here are the snowflakes and now they are nice and white; I added some stamping too using Distress Inks and Archival ink. With a black pen I drew a line around the edge of the paper panel.

I like how this man looks totally appalled ! lol I cut a circle from white card stock and stamped it with a background stamp. The man was stamped with Memento Ink and coloured with Copic Markers. I cut him out and adhered him to the circle.
The sentiment I used was something I saw on the internet, I just typed it on my old trusty typewriter, cut it into strips and adhered it onto the panel. I used my black pen again to doodle around the word strips.

It was then time to put everything together...

And this is what it looks like all finished. Neat eh?
