Just hit the play button

Hello everyone,

Another sample made with one of the fabulous new stamp sets from Visible Image. I also used one of the Monoliths. I love these; it is so nice to make something different for a change.

Front

Back

I started with painting both elements with 2 layers of gesso, drying in between. Next I measured out the chevrons and masked them with washi tape per colour. I used three colours of acrylic paints to give it a (I think) retro look. The back was painted with just the grey paint. Next I took a blending tool and black Archival ink and aged the edges of the elements. I also used my black Big Brush Marker again to colour the small edges.
Next I stamped a sentement repeatedly on the back and also the music notes using grey and yellow Archival Ink. So to the front. I added white gel pen along the yellow chevrons and stamped the music notes. I splattered some white ink on it to brighten it up slightly.
The cassette tape was stamped on white card. With a knife I cut out all the bits that you would be able to look through if the tape were real. I adhered it at an angle and cut off the excess.
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and white embossed.

  4. I really love these monoliths and this one is fantastic. Love the soft grey background and chevrons, and I honestly can hardly believe the cassette is a stamp - it looks completely real. Definitely had me fooled!
