Don't forget to fly

Hello everyone,

For a bit of fun I made this card ... I love to make backgrounds with model paste and, in this case, Mica powders and water...

This piece of card stock was cut slightly smaller than the card I put it on. First I used on of Tim Holtz layering stencils with model paste and a palet knife to add some texture.
After it dried I gave it a coat of gesso and let that dry too.

I then used mica powders and a paintbrush and water to add the colours to it. I used blue and green. When this had dried I added some white paint with a palet knife along the edges and on the raised bits of the flowers. I also added some background stamping. Next I stamped the butterfly on watercolour paper and coloured it with Lindy's stamp gang sprays. I didn't spray them but used a paintbrush. I then cut it out and thought that adhering it straight to the card panel, it didn't stand out enough... So I cut a white circle from book text, added some gesso and doodling to it and adhered it to my card. I then stapled the butterfly to the circle. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut it apart and adhered that too.
All stamps used are by Finnabair via Prima Marketing.

Thank you for stopping by !
