Mode de Paris..

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Tag Along blog, Carol is hosting and she chose the theme 'use text'. So here's my tag:

The background was made by painting a tag with black gesso and then covering it with Crackle paint. It didn't crackle very much but that was probably my fault for using a heat tool (impatient) when the label said 'air dry', lol.... I still liked it and continued by rubbing antiquing wax (raw umber followed by turquoise) over the top. (I bought this stuff while I was at the Craftorij retreat where I did an Andy Skinner workshop... great fun ! I also rubbed the edges with gold interference paint. This is really weird stuff, you can't really see it here unfortunately but when you put it on black it goes gold in one application. The stamps I used were all from an Oxford Impressions Stampset that I bought second hand and I love it... Even the girl in the photo is a stamp ! The text Carol wanted is on the tag directly and I also stamped it on the fabric that forms the ribbon. Last thing : I matted the sentiment and the girl on some grey paper that is actually a sample card from a DIY store for laminate flooring !

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....

  4. Wonderful, elegant tag, Corrie. Your 'failed' crackle looks brilliant none the less (what do they say? there are no mistakes in crafting). Love the interference paint.
