Last month I won a stamp set for being runner up in the Art Impression Challenge called "Cute as a button". I used part of this stamp set today for this month's challenge which is : "Hip to be square". Here is my square card :
I used some grey and pink patterned paper for the background. I matted these pieces on black card stock. I stamped Selma on white card stock and coloured her with Copic Markers. I also matted this bit of paper on black card stock. I then adhered everything on the main panel together with the brads and the little 'vacation' label' which was also matted on black paper.
That was it !
Thanks for stopping by !
Hope you like it....
Selma looks to be such a fabulous lady!!! The colours have a lovely Retro quality to them.
ReplyDeleteAlways love what you create

Matting art in black always makes it stand out (a tip I learned from Nellie!), and you can see how well it works here! I have been making square cards for years, Corrie, but always have difficulty with finding envelopes for them I usually end up cutting up a Kraft envelope which usually detracts from the card. What do you use? Anyway, super great image for your card!
ReplyDeleteHi Kay, I usually cheat by buying packs of cardblanks, already scored, with envelopes. If you don't want to do that, you could use the envelope scoring board. I have the one from We R Memory keepers. It works perfectly with just plain white typing paper (a little bit thicker than what you would use in your printer. Hope this helps! Mwah! Corrie x
DeleteDat zijn toch leuke stempels... En zoals je deze geplaatst hebt op een bijna klassieke elegante kaart vind ik gaaf! Fijn Pinksterweekend verder, Gerrina
