Stampotique Designers' Challenge #138

Hello fellow Crafters,

Happy Wednesday to you all. Today the Challenge was set by Kristen and she wanted us to use green as our primary colour. This is what she said :

Hello there, Kristen here, and I am the host of this week’s Challenge.  I am a huge fan of using Primary colors in my projects, with Red being my favorite, but since it is March, and this month the month of the beginning of spring and St. Paddy’s Day. I am challenging you to use GREEN as the main color in your project.  I can’t wait to see what you create. Have fun and have a great week!

I made a birthday card :

I started off with a bit of watercolour paper that I coloured with Dylusions in Dirty Martini and Fresh Lime. I then used a Damask embossing folder to create some texture. I rubbed it with a blending tool and Peeled Paint Distress Ink to make the pattern more visible. I used my favourite Stampotique background stamp 'Fax to Wolfgang' with black ink on the raised parts of the paper. Hard to see without zooming in. I then stamped 'Heart Shirt' and clear embossed him. I decided only to colour the little heart on his shirt. I cut him out and adhered him to a strip of vellum. I then stamped the 'Happy Birthday' and used my scoring tool to create a white line on either side of the vellum. The whole thing was then stapled onto the green paper. I then adhered the pink flower to a white one with a brad and also put it on the green paper. The panel was then matted on some black card stock and adhered to the card.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it .....

  6. Just a wonderful card, Corrie! I am not a huge fan of pink, but I love how you have used it here both for his heart and the flower. It is all the detail that attracts me to this project--like the fine white lines on the velum created with your scoring tool and your use of staples. I have both a ScorePal and a TH "tiny attacher," and rarely use either of them. You have inspired me to use them again! ;-)
