The boys are back in town

Hello fellow Crafters,

I heard the Thin Lizzy song 'the boys are back in town' on the radio and it gave me the idea to do an art journal page with my favourite Stampotique boys. I also had already prepped a page in my journal a while ago, so all I had to do was stamp and colour 'the boys'. While I was doing that my hubbie brought me a cup of coffee (yes, he is very well trained ;o)) and he said 'Why not give them baseball caps'. I thought that was a brilliant idea so that's what I did. Here's the result:

The background was made with Distress Inks and I used the Dylusions number stencil and sprayed water on it to make the numbers lighter. I also did a little bit of background stamping with Distress Inks and black Archival Ink. Oh, I forgot, I glued some bookpaper on as well, before colouring. I put some washi tape on the places where the boys where going and decided to do a black and white border around the page. Lastly I put the sentiment on with sticky back letters.
I used these Stampotique stamps:

  1. Your husbands idea really works I love them wih the caps on, great pages

  2. Corrie, you need four more of these little guys and you'll have a full ball team!! Twinkie has to be my all-time favorite little guy and I love how you so creatively used the positions of his arms to create the hug! This may be my favorite from you! Oh, yes, hubby's ideas gets a pat on the back...or something better! ;-)

  3. Corrie, love your enthusiasm for creating this wonderful pages!
Background is striking! you made it with distress ink and dylusions? result is 'wow' need to try this :) yes and your husband's idea about cap fits perfectly here!
Fab page with full of life!

    1. Hi Shilpa, thank you for your nice comment. I used gesso on the page first and then used Distress Inks and a blending tool to get the colours like this in the background. I then put on the Number stencil from Dylusions and sprayed water through it and left the water on for about 30 seconds and then blotted it with kitchen paper so it lifts off the colour again.

  4. Another great great make, your talent is really exploding Corrie !! You must be part of the next Stampotique team I think, and that's good news if any... ! :) Have a good Sunday, Coco xx

  5. Wauw Corrie, superleuk deze boys pagina!!!!
