All her dreams

Hello everyone,

Today, for my DT project for AALL & Create I have created a Mixed Media Mini canvas. It was so much fun to make. I used one of Fiona's little people for it and she looks fab !

And here's how:

I had wanted to use some corrugated cardboard on one of my projects for ages and today was the day! I used it to put little Juniper on. She's so cute !

First things first though.. I started with model paste and a stencil. This one was designed by Autour de Mwa and it is great. You can use the whole thing or just a little bit like I did.

When the model paste had dried I coloured the canvas with spray inks. I used Lindys Stampgang sprays because I happed to really like those but you can use other inks too.
I did mess about with it for a little while after I took this photo because I thought it was too green.

After I was happy with the colour I splattered white paint on it. Next I painted the piece of cardboard with white gesso and stamped part of stamp #80 on it using Distress Oxide ink 'Peacock Feathers. I also went around the edges of the card board. Later on I added some more stamping with the same stamp and black Archival ink...

I then coloured little Juniper. She will be wearing a nice turquoise frock and a pink necklace.

Here she is all dressed and ready to go.

I glued her onto the card board piece and gave her a bow in her hair made from Sari ribbon. I added atwo text stickers by Tim Holtz. I thought these two went really wel together. And there you have it !

If you are interested in any of the products I used then please visit www.aallandcreate.com/boutique where you'll find information and a list of worldwide stockists.

I have used :
Stamp #85 - Juniper
Stamp #80 - Lined
Stencil #28

A wallhanging

Hello everyone,

I am sharing a wallhanging for UmWow Studio today. It was also an experiment with embossing powders which didn't quite go to plan, oh well..

And here's what I did to the chipboard..

I glued the star chipboard on some book paper..

I tore off the excess...

I then thought to fill it with UTEE but see what happened:

I decided to go with it anyway and added a layer of the new Emerald Creek/Seth Apter embossing powders of the top. I used Dirty Sand.

Sorry for the blurred photo, my camera obviously focussed on the pot of embossing powder..

I actually think that looks really cool !

So here is the finished project. The base is grey board of which I painted the edges with black gesso. The top layer is a piece of a box. I tore off the top layer of paper here and there to expose the ridges.
I added the model paste through the UmWow Dahlia stencil, then added a layer gesso over the top.
I used Lindy's Sprays to colour the paper.

I think it turned out nice, even if I did have trouble with the UTEE..

I have used the Dahlia Stencil --> HERE

and the Sketchy Star --> HERE

Thank you for stopping by today !

Fancy a cuppa

Hello everyone,

For today's VLVS! Challenge Inspiration I have made a tag. This was a little different for me,  as there are no bright colours on this !

I started with a #8 tag which I cut from a sheet of Tim Holtz pattern paper pad called 'French Industrial'. It was stamped with a coffee ring stamp and Archival ink. ( A complete list of the stamps I used it at the bottom of this post).
Next I cut a circle from some corrugated cardboard card stock and painted some gesso over it to lighten it a little. I then took my Archival ink pad and dragged it over the edges.
Next I glued the circle onto the tag and then used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges. I then rubbed the edges with the Archival ink also.
The lady was stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic markers. She was cut out and adhered onto the circle. Lastly the sentiment was stamped and the leather cord added through the hole.

Here is the inspiration board this tag is based on:

The words to go with this : caffeine, coffee, tea, warm drinks, hyper, cups, fancy, stain, brown, vintage, cardboard, tan, brown, black.

Here are the stamps I have used:

I hope I have given you some inspiration to play along !! You might win a grab bag of lovely pink rubber.....
