Just a quick post from me today. I have made a card for the challenge over at 'De Stempelwinkel' where the theme this month is 'anything goes'.
So here it is :
On this card I experimented with the Distress Crayons from Tim Holtz and I must say that the jury is still out on whether I like them or not.. I bought the whole set at the Art Specially event this weekend and I'd better like them !!! lol
Anyway on the card I used mostly 'De Stempelwinkel' stamps. The photographer was stamped in a piece of very subtle pattern paper and cut out. I also stamped him on the card so that any imperfection in the cutting out is not visible.
The sentiment Viva Las Vegas Stamps, I used it because I thought it was funny...
I distressed the edges and glued the panel onto a white card.
Thanks for stopping by...
WOW you really went for it didn't ya, getting the full set!! I'm not that convinced tbh after watching and hearing what other people have to say about them, so I've decided not to get any. Funnily enough, I've been playing with the Crayola Twist Stix's today, they don't blend very well in my opinion either, they need gesso help xxx
ReplyDeleteMy faves are still the Neocolor II's. I have a few of those too and prefer them. The Distress ones are a little too soft for me. Never mind, can't win em all !!! Lol
DeleteJury is out for me too Corrie, I also bought the whole set, we live and learn. Great make though. You've just given me another reason to get neo colours which I've been avoiding.

Hoi Corrie,
Groetjes
Margo
Well, first of all I love the title of your post, (and the sentiment obviously). Love that gentleman too, what a brilliant stamp and you used it so well here. Now as to those crayons, - I got the full set too when a friend was coming over from the States, where of course they are much cheaper. I do like them a lot for certain things I have to say, I have a ton of Neocolours too,(hardly ever use them stupidly), but I find if you blend the Distress crayons with a dryish baby wipe they blend really well. For certain things though, Gelatos are my favourites, but then I am such a hoarder.... Anyway, love your card and the colours work really well together I think!
ReplyDeleteThat fresh green looks amazing for the background with that wonderful stamp of the gentleman and I also love the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteCorrie, I have only one set, the neutrals and although I have used them, I do not believe the crayon will last for a long time, so not sure they are good value for money. Cannot imagine I will replace the pack once the crayons are finished!

Mooie kaart, goed opgebouwd. Leuk dat je meedoet met de challenge van de Stempelwinkel. Liefs Ineke
ReplyDeleteI love this Corrie, a funny "pun" :) And I also got a full set of distress crayons at Art Specially. I do like them, they are nice bold colors, but they are indeed soft which gives me the idea I might use them up quickly and I don't like the thought of that, LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours here, and that splendidly dapper gent. I've only had time for a very quick play with my crayons - not wild about them yet either, but really, it was only an hour! I quite liked them over gesso though. Looking forward to getting back to my craft table so that I can explore properly.
