If you rest, you rust !

Hello everyone,

It is the first of April already, time goes so fast !

Over at Country View Challenges we start a new challenge today and the theme, which was chosen by the lovely Evelyn, is rust ! I love rust... and for this project I made my rust with Finnabairs rust pastes... so much fun.

I have made a little wall hanger:

This is the finished result and here is how I made it :

I cut a piece of grey board to size and added gesso.

These are the pastes I used, a mixture of the two works best.

And there it is rust...

I cut a piece of watercolour paper to go on the cardboard base. It is a little smaller and I distressed the edges. I used the Distress Oxide Inks.

The are amazing.  They go much brighter when you spritz water on them.
I smooshed my card into this lovely puddle of ink and dried it. I repeated the process until I was happy with the result.

And here it is. Isn't that cool !

I used a PaperArtsy stamp with the same inks for more interest. It is from the Eclectica Range by Lin Brown. (ELB34)

Here's how that looks.

Next I stamped this little Zinski critter, also by PaperArtsy. (Zini ZN04) I can't get enough of them, they are sooooo cute ! I stamped him twice; once on white card stock to colour with Copic Markers and once on the coloured panel. I do this so when I cut him out of the white paper I can just cut off little bits like his hair. When I layer him on the one on the panel, he is whole again.

Here he is coloured, cut out and adhered. I added a piece of metal that I treated with the same rust paste. I cut it in half and glued it on my panel with gel medium.

And here it is all put together..

Some details of all the yummy rust...

And here he is in all his rusty glory. I found the sentiment on the internet and typed it on a scrap of pattern paper of which I inked the edges with the Walnut Stain Oxide ink.

We hope you will play along with us this month and have fun with rust. You could win a voucher for the shop of GBP 20,--. Jus make sure to read the rules before entering.

How do you do ?

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where I am sharing a pair of ATC's today. I made these for UmWow Studio. UwWow is a company that makes chipboards and I love them. They are thick and sturdy and so useful in so many projects. I hope you like what I did with them here !

These are my finished ATC's !
