I have made a tag today which I shall be entering into the Tag Along Challenge of this week. The theme is Angels and was set by my lovely friend Kay.
I am suffering with lack of Mojo at this moment. I was going to do a lot this week but haven't managed to come up with much at all... Eek. Hopefully Mr. Mojo will return soon. I tried to kickstart myself with this tag and hope it has worked...
I started with a #8 tag which I painted with white gesso. After this dried I sprinkled some yellow and orange Brusho's over it and then used a clear gesso instead of water to get a result that is more predictable. The unpredictability of the Brusho's is exactly what I don't like. So when I read on the internet somewhere that you can mix them with gel medium and gesso etc. I thought I'd try it before I completely give up on them. I like this a lot better.
Anyway after that dried I put my Gothic TH stencil on and sprayed orange Delusion spray through it. This gave this diffused effect which I quite liked. After it dried I put the stencil back on and dabbed embossing ink through it on the top right and bottom left. I heat embossed it with copper embossing powder by WOW. I also embossed the edges of the tag in the same way.
Next I stamped Stampotique's 'Angel Boy' and one of the words of the 'Tall word collage' on white card stock, clear embossed them and coloured the angel with a combination of Copics and watercolour pencils. I re-embossed the wings after colouring with clear embossing powder.
Both were cut out and adhered to the tag and lastly I added a piece of ribbon.
Thank you for stopping by !
Awe Mr Mojo is deffo back :-)))

Mr. Mojo dropped by for this one! Beautifully done, Corrie. I haven't tried the Brushos, but they certainly gave a beautiful effect here.

Goed van je, dat je toch een manier hebt gevonden om met de Brusho te werken, die ook nog bij je past Corrie...heel mooi resultaat zo...de stempel past er zo mooi bij!
ReplyDeleteGoed weekend verder, Alie :-)
Thanks for participating in this week's Tag Along Blog Challenge, Corrie! Your tag is perfect for the ANGELS theme. Angel Boy looks absolutely amazing, and his wings--well, I just keep going back to look at them again. I have never re-embossed anything, but may just have to try this technique. I don't have Brushos, but remember that you have struggled with them before. I do like the look you got by mixing in the Gesso. Great use of the stencil here, too! All in all, my friend, spot on! Thanks for coming over to support me again!!
ReplyDeleteThis beautiful tag doesn't look like you've lost Mr. Mojo at all, Corrie!! I just love this tag! I love the Angelboy image, too and keep wondering why I don't have him, yet!! :) :) Fab Tag, Corrie!! Good Luck over at Tag Along!! XOXO-Shari
Fijne zondag verder, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteI sympathise with your feeling your mojo has gone walkabout, Corrie, (me too!) although it doesn't look like it to me, especially as you're trying new things with the Brushos. I think your angel boy is fab!
ReplyDeleteyou are always such an inspiration Corrie, your tag is just delicious. The brusho background is lovely, I adore playing with my brushos, I do agree that they are quite unpredictable, I am definitely gonna have a go with your gel medium or gesso technique tho. :)

ReplyDeleteYes yes it works well, don't worry Corrie, knowing you I'm sure your Mojo will come back very soon... :I love the colours and the touch of white paint remaining below the wings, this stamp is so fabulous and you really honour it. Bises, Coco
ReplyDeleteThat's a really stunning tag - I would never know your Mojo was in any trouble at all! Fabulous colours, and that white highlighting of the wings is magical.
