Morning person & the unimaginable..

Hello fellow Crafters,

I have been busy in my stamproom again today and made two Art Journal spreads. One I like, one I am not sure of.
Here is the first one, I like this one :

This one was started with Gesso and then I put pink paint over the top. I then sprayed it with Dylusions Bubblegum pink and hated it. So I wiped it off and used Distress Ink in Picked Rasperry instead. I liked that better. I then did my usual stencilling and stamping to make a nice background. I also went around the edges of the page with black ink. The girl is Stampotique's Sheer and I stamped her on white paper, coloured her with watercolourpencils and clear embossed her. The sentiment was printed with a computer and glued on strips of washi tape. Sheer was glued on the page and set on some washi tape as well.
Hope you like it.

The second page I did today was this one:

This page was started with turqoise paint. I then put some green watersoluble crayon around the edges. After stencilling and stamping the background I stamped Heart Throb on white paper and again coloured him with watercolour pencils and clear embossed him. The sentiment was made with a labelmaker. I am not sure I am keen on this one, don't know why.

Thank you for your visit !

  1. Corrie these are both gorgeous, I love your bright colours, and the fishy background on your second page is brilliant xx

  2. Corrie, I actually like both journal spreads, but, as you are, am partial to the first! Maybe its Sheer! Both images are beautifully colored with watercolor pencils, but, can you explain the process of clear embossing the images after you have colored them? Thanks! Kay

    1. Hi Kay, pleased you like my spreads! The clear embossing is really quite simple. I stamp the image with Stazon or another waterproof ink, then colour with either watercolour pencils and a brush or Distress Inks (I schmoosh them on my craftsheet and pick up the colour with a brush).
I then press my Versamark Inkpad over the image, don't rub just dab until you got an even covering of it. Then sprinkle clear embossing powder over it as you would when you emboss a normal stamped image and heat it with your heat tool until it is melted. Then cut it out. Or you can cut it out first but then it is a bit more difficult to hold it when heating it. I do this because I find the colours get such a lot brighter after embossing. Have a go and let me know how you get on ! Best regards,
      Corrie x

    2. Thanks, Corrie...when am home next week, I promise to try out this technique. Right now, I am suffering from withdrawal since I am not home and cannot participate in today's SDC...yet! ;-)

    3. Aw, I know how you feel. I will have guests from Friday for almost a week and because it wouldn't be very sociable to sit in my craftroom and leave em to it, haha, I am afraid I will get withdrawal symptoms as well, boohooo!
