We are all a little broken..

Hello everyone,

As you might know I really, really love my gelli plate and I have been using gelli prints for everything I make. Lately though, I feel like I have lost my way a little because I used to love making backgrounds in different ways too. I also feel that I don't do enough journaling.  So I have decided to try and get back into some of my old ways..

This art journal spread is made with acrylic paints and a brayer and I really enjoyed making it.

First I painted the pages with gesso and when that had dried I used a brayer and light blue paints to cover the pages. I added some white over the top to make it even lighter. I then added the orange, also with the brayer. Next I used various stencils and Distress Oxide inks to add numbers. I also added some washi tape and some white paint splatters.
I coloured this little girl by Vera Lane Studio when I was on holiday and decided to use her today. The sentiment is from the same set.

You'll find her HERE

Thank you very much for stopping by today !

This is what family looks like

Hello everyone,

Today I have a quick AJ page to share. I made this for my DT Hobbycompleet De Duif and it was really easy to make. I used one of my gelli printed backgrounds and then stamped a load of Katzelkraft dogs and one cat. I cut them all out and glued them onto the page adding a little shading under each of them. A small talk sticker by Tim Holtz finished it off...

I made this page to show you how easy it is to make an art journal page and you don't always have to spend hours to make one. I think this turned out nice for 10 minutes work !

Anyway have a go yourself !

I used the following materials
Katzelkraft stamps:
Les Gros Chats 09 - Mini 080

Something wicked

Hello everyone,

welcome to my last post for VivaLasVegaStamps! for August ! Can't believe it is almost September ...

Anyway for today I have a postcard to share and this is it:

and here's how I made it :

I made the background on water colour paper. I put the Oxides on my craft sheet, sprayed water over it and then dunked my card in it repeatedly, drying in between layers.

Next I tool a pallet knife and some white acrylic paint and scraped some over the card.

I liked the result. Next I added stamping; I used the same Distress Oxides and grey and black Archival inks.

This was the result..

Next I stamped my images onto some pattern paper which hasn't got any pattern on it, lol... but the colour of this paper matched the paint I used...

After I cut everything out I adhered it to my card and doodled around the edge and around the words.

Here's a detail...

and another..

I have used the following stamps:

Live in the moment

Hello everyone,

Today I have a tag to share for Visible Image. I made this way back early August as I am away in sunny (one hopes) Brighton at the moment!

After cutting a tag out of watercolour paper I dunked it into two of the new Distress Oxide colours; wild honey and twisted citron. Once I was happy with the background I stamped it with one of the flowers of the 'Imperfection is beauty' stamp set. I used the same inks. While the ink was still wet I sprinkled clear embossing powder over it and heat embossed it.

I then added some white splatters.

I then stamped the sentiment and the dragon flies from the 'Live in the moment' set. I clear embossed the sentiment also. The wings were then stamped again on book paper and adhered over the ones already on the tag. A ribbon and some doodling around the edges finished it off !

I used the following stamps:

Dare to be different..

Hello everyone,

I have been so busy lately with DT stuff because of holidays etc that I haven't had time to do anything else. But today I thought I'd make a journal spread because this is still my favourite thing to do.

I started out with PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylic paints and painted the pages with my fingers. I used two blues, a green and some white to blend.
Next I added some stencilling. I used a Distress Oxide Ink for this as this works fantastically. Next I added some stamping using VivaLasVegaStamps!, some splattering with a blue paint pen and some scraps of book paper.
The girls are from Teesha Moore and they were stamped on book pages, cut out and adhered to the page. I added some shading with a big brush marker so they wouldn't be floating. Lastly I added the sentiment which is by AALL & Create. It was stamped on the edge of the book paper, cut out and adhered. That was it !

Happy birthday !

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my post for Vera Lane Studio and I have used the new Cupcakes & Doughnut set to make a birthday card. I think they look good enough to eat !

This simple card was made by gluing some black and white pattern paper onto a card. I just tore it to make it more interesting. I then printed the cupcakes and the sentiment and coloured the cakes and a few candles.. I arranged them on the card and the sentiment finished it off nicely !

You'll find the cupcakes (and lots of other lovely digis)  HERE

Remember to play

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my post for UmWow Studio. Today I have used a scalloped tag from a tag book. There are four tags in this book together with a ring to make them into a book. I have decorated the first one today and I have filmed the process too:

If you'd like to know what I did to this tag then click on the video or go straight to my YouTube Channel HERE

Happy birthday

Hello everyone,

Today I have a birthday card to share. I made this for my DT of Hobbycompleet de Duif. I didn't use to make many cards but these days I notice I am making more. I suppose they are quick and easy !

I cut a piece of design paper to the same size as the card and stamped the circles on it. I chose this warm grey because I decided the dog was going to be coloured in warm grey too.
I stamped and coloured the dog and cut him out. I adhered him to the card. Whilst colouring I thought he needed a party hat. So I cut a triangle from the same paper and coloured it too with my Copics. I adhered it to his head and added white dots. The sentiment finished the card off.

I used the following materials:

Is it wine o'clock yet?

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blogpost for Katzelkraft. I have used one of the dogs today because they are so cute. This one is having a coffee but I think he is not too happy about it...

I stamped the dog on white card stock and coloured him with Copic markers and cut him out. I also stamped him on the card panel which is a gelli print, and adhered him over the top. I added some shading with a coloured pencil and lastly added the sentiment. I then adhered the panel onto a white card.

Be sparkly

Hello everyone,

and welcome to Vera Lane Sunday ! Every Sunday I post a project for Vera Lane Studio and if you haven't heard from them you should have a little peek... so many great images..

For today I have made a postcard with the 'Sparkles and Sprinkles' set to send with the ATC for the month of August's swap themed ; "Add some sparkle".

Love this set.. the girls are fabulous. I paired her with one of the sentiments that come in the set too. I used another gelli printed background and made sure to add lots of glitter and sparkle ! Shame it doesn't really show in the picture...

This is the ATC I made for the swap :

The bee also comes in the set and I paired him with some dictionary paper that I die cut in the shape of a heart and another sentiment from the set.

A good heart

Hello everyone,

I did manage an hour's play before the family arrive today for a week's stay. I couldn't resist using this girl from Vera Lane Studio:

The gelli print came from my stash.... which is getting really low ! eek...
I added some doodles and a die cut heart. She was then coloured and adhered over the top of the heart. The sentiment is a small talk sticker by Tim Holtz.

If you would like her too you will find her and her sister

Days of Summer

Hello everyone,
Hallo allemaal,

Today I have another card for Hobbycompleet de Duif to share.
Voor het blogbericht van vandaag voor Hobbycompleet de Duif, heb ik een kaart gemaakt.

The background was made with a Katzelkraft stamp which I inked with Distress Oxide ink in Wild Honey and then sprayed with water. That is how you get this watery effect. I then stamped the flower and coloured the stem with a coloured pencil. The flower head was stamped again on white card stock and coloured with Copics. I cut it out and adhered it to the card. Lastly I stamped the words, added the washi tape and adhered the panel to a white card.

Glitter makes everything better

Hello everyone,

We have a new release; there are two a month most months. This time it is called 'Sparkles and Sprinkles' and it is very cute. I made a little art journal spread with a couple of the images.

I made this spread in my little book that I made for PaperArtsy. I used their Fresco Chalk Acrylics for the prints and also some of their stamps and stencils.
All the prints (about 30) were then glued together into a little book. Anyway I coloured one of the girls and some of the flowers with Copic Markers and cut them out. I used a stencil and white paint to add some more flowers.
I then tore some words out of a dictionary that are relevant to the pages like glitter, shine and sparkle and glued them to my pages. I places the girl and the flowers in between those words.
I added the sentiment which is from the same set and of course some glitter ! I put some in the hearts of the flowers, on her crown and she is also pouring glitter onto the plants.

Here's a close up of the sparkle !

Dreamy days of summer

Hallo allemaal,

Hello everyone,
Vandaag heb ik een kaartje, gemaakt voor Hobbycompleet de Duif,  voor jullie. Ik heb hiervoor de mooie bloemenstempels van PaperArtsy (EKC01) voor gebruikt.

Today I have a card to share. I made this for my DT - Hobbycompleet de Duif. I have used Kay Carley's beautiful flower stamps by PaperArtsy.

I stamped two of the flowers on white card stock and coloured them with Copic Markers. I then cut them out and glued the yellow ones flat onto my card. The white one is popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is from the same set and actually consists of two stamps.

Feed your soul

Hello everyone,

Today I have an art journal page to share. I made this with the fabulous VivaLasVegaStamps! and a gelli print.

This AJ page was made on a gelli print. I added texture to it with a Lego block and a flower stencil.

I stamped the background and used another flower stencil and white paint to add some more interest.

I then stamped the tree, lengthened the base and added the sentiment.

I used the following stamps :

Look on the bright side !

Hello everyone,

I love making postcards and I couldn't resist making another one with one of the new Katzelkraft cats. I love all the new dog and cat stamps... In real life I love dogs but not cats.
Anyway, here is my postcard:

This poor kitty doesn't look very impressed with the rain ! But he has a brolly so "look on the bright side". I made this postcard with a piece of gelli printed paper. I added the rain with white embossing powder and stamped the cat on the card and on a piece of separate white card stock. I coloured him with Copic Markers, cut him out and glued him on his other 'self' on the card. I added a bit of shading and a Tim Holtz small talk sticker to finish it of..

I used the following stamps:

Dreamy days

Hello everyone,

and a warm welcome to my post for Um Wow Studio. I have made a tag this time.

And here's what I did to the Chipboard:

This is the chipboard in it's natural state.

I decided just to colour it today. I used Faber Castell Pitt Artists Big Brush Pens.

This is what it looked like after colouring. I only used two shades of brown for the tops and two shades of green for the leaves.

Next I clear embossed it.

The finished article....

A close up of the tag which I treated with Acrylic paint (PaperArtsy - Sage) on the bottom and the right side.  I also added a little bit of stamping.

I added some dictionary text pieces: 'Dream' on the top and 'Summer' at the bottom.

I also wrapped some embroidery twine around the tag and added a sentiment from a PaperArtsy Stamp set.

I used a chipboard from this set :

Plant smiles...

Hello everyone,

I have a quick extra post today. This adorable image came out today at Vera Lane Studio; she is part of set of a couple of gals and some sentiments too. I made a postcard to send with my 3 ATC's that were given away.
The sentiment I used is from a different set called 'Organics' but I thought it went perfectly with this little girl.

Of course I used a gelli print and coloured the girl with Copic Markers; I then cut her out and adhered her to the card. The sentiment was added as well as a tiny strip of black and white paper on the left side.

Thank you for stopping by today !
