Darker than you think..

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made a little card for Lost Coast Designs. It is a tad darker than you maybe expect from me but I fancied doing something different. I was acually aiming for vintage but then spotted the book title which became my sentiment. I suppose that made it a bit more sinister !

I used some patterned paper that I aged with Distress ink and waterdrops. I die cut a circle in a bit of hessian fabric, ruffled and inked the edges and used part of the "Waiting for Mr. Wright" stamp to stamp both the fabric and the background panel. Next I stamped the lady's face from the "Up close and Personal" stamp set on a piece of blank book text and the eyes from the same set a few times on the background panel. Next I used two circle dies to cut the ring to place on top of the fabric. The face was glued on the background panel, the fabric on top and the die cut ring on top of that. I used a bottle top to stamp the rings with black Archival ink. I then spotted the book title in the front of the book I have been using for crafting and thought that went very well with the whole card. Lastly I dripped some white ink over the whole thing and put the white spots in the eyes which really brings them to life I think...

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....

  8. I have to agree that it can be a challenge, but fun, to try something out of your "expected" zone--of colors, of images, of papers--and the list goes on! Yes, you totally surprised me with your color palette, and I love it, Corrie! And the crowd roars, "More, more! Give me more!"
