Free to fly.. & beep...beep..

Hello fellow Crafters,

I've been busy crafting today and I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first one is this one; a tag. The weather has been so nice lately that it inspired me to use these sunny colours:

I used a #8 Manilla tag en coloured it from the bottom up with Distress Inks in Barn Door, Spiced Marmelade, Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade and Peeled Paint. I used the following stamps :
Fax to Wolfgang by Amy Wilson, in the same DI colours
Seaweed by Jo Capper-Sandon, with black Archival ink
Flying Bird by Roc Nicolas, with Memento ink

The birds were stamps in white watercolour paper and coloured with Copics. I didn't clear emboss them today as I thought they looked nice as they were.  I filled the little dots of the seaweed stamp with a white paint pen. The bee and the sentiment are both rub-ons from Tim Holtz. Lastly I used a black marker to put some faux stitching along the edge, matted the tag on black card stock and put some ribbon through the hole.

My second project today was a journal page in my mini Moleskine. I love this size because it is so easy to do a page. I won a competition last week and part of my prize was the Stampotique stamp called Taxi !,  I thought I'd use it today and this is it :

I coloured the page with Pan Pastels in yellow, orange and a tiny bit of red around the edges. I stamped a background stamp on the right hand side of the page and didn't like it. So I decided to glue some book text over it. I coloured it the same way as the rest of the page. I used one stencil with orange DI, and added some random stamping with black and white inks. I splattered some India Ink on the page and made some rings with my favourite tool; a cap from a old tube of toothpaste. Again I added some faux stitching around the edge, this time with a white paint pen. I used two Stampotique stamps :
Uncle Buck by Daniel Torrente
Taxi ! by Janet Klein

Both were stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copics, clear embossed and cut out. I added some  TH washi tape, cutting out the streets and avenues of New York. I placed Uncle Buck and the little taxi on the tape and drew the string between the two.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it.....
